Lander
Hi! I currently attend Lander but I am in the reg BSN program. I dont know that much about the RN-BSN program but I do know that most of it is online. The website is http://www.lander.edu/nursing The best thing to go to find out about the program is the student nurse handbook. In there is talks about the program and the requirements for entry and curriculum. As far as price I know that the full time cost of tuition (12 hours or more) is around 3800 or so per semester. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. I hope this helps.

Aneurysm after giving birth?
Hello all! Recently my cousin gave birth to a baby girl who weighed 8 lbs. Baby and mom came home and were doing fine. Mom gave birth to baby on Tuesday and on Sunday night got admitted to the hospital for an aneurysm. Doctors have drilled a hole and as of right now she is in a semicomatose state. They have also called the family in and said it will be around five days before they know anything. Can anyone tell me why this might have happened? Why is it going to take five days before they will know whether she will live or not? Any explanations or info will be apprecitated! Thanks

Babies cut during c-sections?
My boyfriend was also cut when he was born. Right on the head and you can see the scar, it is about an inch long and no hair growing from it. Kinda cute though.:chuckle

Is it really that gross?
Thanks for the replies. I feel much better. I guess I am just scaring myself. I want to work in the NICU bad enough that at this point I think I will look at any and everything. Are there any drawbacks to working in the NICU in your opinion? bbrown

Is it really that gross?
Okay everytime I tell someone I want to be a nurse, (well a NICU nurse) they say oooh can you take all that nasty stuff? Is nursing really that bad, is it really that bad of nasty things? What about nursing school do you see the people with trama and gross things? This is sorta got me worried and making me re-think going into nursing. What do yall think? Please help me before I go crazy. brittany

Question for anyone who just passed chem w/an "A"...
Everyone has a different way of learning do what helps you most. My way was making flash-cards like others have said, but don't be afraid to go to the professor. It helps. Chemistry is also alot of math so be sure to review your math skills. Good luck brittany

advice on nursing school please
HI! I also believe you should not spend your time working somewhere where you hate it. I hope that I never have to work somewhere like that. I have a passion for the NICU and I am going to go for it. If it doesn't work out for me then I will try something else. I hope everyone can find something that they are as passionate as I am about this, they will have a happier life. I do realize that not all jobs are great. Each and everything has its drawbacks, it is just the job. As far as the prereps go I am busting my butt to get them finished and get a good grade out of them. I see everyday that there are many girls who would rather party and go out than study. I don't think they are going to make very far in nursing. I do not have a child yet, but I give you and many others respect for raising a family and going to school, not everyone can. Good luck in everything! bbrown1

advice on nursing school please
OB or NICU Hopeful, I am right there with you. I feel that I need to do something with babies or labor and delivery. I have been very interested with this area since I was a little girl. I think I will struggle in nursing school because I will not be as willing to learn the things that I am not interested in. Although I know my weakness I am going to ty to open my mind to other things than just babies and LD. I love witnessing a baby being born or babies in the NICU who need every little bit of help you can give them. I feel that the NICU or LD are my true callings, does anyone else feel like that? bbrown1
