  1. What do you mean directly to Sacramento?..Are you there in California?..If you are staying in California, the waiting period is about 3-5 months but if you are currently here in the Philippines, it would take 6 months before CA BON can verify your eligibility, and you'll encounter much delays if you have inconsistency with your application data or requirements..There is no other way which can make the application faster, the CA BON has set a standard waiting period for the application processing but they give shorter waiting period for California residents compared to those who reside in the Philippines..
  2. I took and passed the ( NCLEX) Licensure examination of California and Suzzane is right, it will take 6 months before one would be able to receive his ATT..I think that the Cali BON is requiring license in the Philippines, if you dont have a Philippine license, you must write a letter why you dont have a license yet and that is stated on the procedures..Well, when I submitted my requirements for application, I included the certified true photocopy of my Philippine license...I have a friend who applied on CA BON, and after 3 months, she received a letter from the CA-BON, stating that her requirements were incomplete since she didnt include her Philippine license..Well, immediately she submitted the photocopy of her license, but it created an impact on her application..It took 8 months before she ever received her ATT..so before you submit requirements to the CA BON, make it sure that you didnt miss anything and filled-up the application form correctly..Waiting period for CA BON eligibility for examination is way too long and it gets more delayed if you commit any errors or inconsistencies with your requirements..
  3. Hiii how are you now??..Are they allowing you to work in a local hospital nowadays?..I hope everything would be settled now..
  4. Focus on the speaking part especially when you're not articulate or not used to speak English on everyday basis...Try to speak English everyday as much as you can and it would help if you would reheorifice yourself answering questions especially the complicated questions, however, just be natural during the interview, dont sound as if you had memorized your answers, you would be given a lower credit for that..
  5. I know that..I am not ignorant on how laws should be passed in a democratic country, and nobody says that Zashagalk comments were rediculous and had no base at all..As you said it depends on the mood of the congress and the senate, but what Zashagalk said was that there is no way that this bill would be granted by the Houses-and that he is just being realistic and doesnt base his life on false hopes like winning the lottery- I just reacted on what he said because I dont like it and find it irritating..period..
  6. I know you have a point there but it is more on the negative side as if there is no hope at all.Well, I understand your sentiment as an American who is worrying about the influx of foreign nurses.. Only Philippines, India , and China would be affected by this Retrogression. UK, Canada and South Korea are not included in the 50,000 visa quota..So like it or not, you would still continue to receive foreign nurses on your unit...Even if the nurses' quota will be abolished, US immigration law always changes and it is unpredictable, so dont you worry, they are not giving easy visas to foreigners every year and opening USA to all...and it is not very easy to enter United States, mind you.foreign nurses are having a very hard time fulfilling all the US exam requirements and dealing with the very long wait to be there with or without retrogression..
  7. Just hope and pray that US will be constantly open for foreign nurses..There is a nursing shortage in US but immigration laws and policies always changes, its unpredictable, with the greencard visa running out of numbers and the threat of terrorism-these make migration much harder..and recently, UK began closing its door for Filipino nurses, much worse, they sending some Filipino nurses back in the Philippines after their contract ends..and there would be a Retrogression this October, meaning, US greencard visa processiong would be freeze...
  8. Mike, are you an American or a US citizen Filipino?..Just my advice, you could consider a fiancee visa sponsorship for your fiancee, it has a shorter span of waiting than the greencard sponsorship by an employer..considering all these controversies on 2006 board takers and impending retrogression, it is much practical to sponsor your fiancee if you can..just my suggestion..
  9. Pass the Local Nursing Exam first, then proceed to Foreign exams...think one step at a time..
  10. Is the processing of visa screen certificate can be affected by this retrogression?
  11. Yes, you are very right...but it wont reached to 100 US dollars per week unless you've spent more on food and clothes...it depends on the budgetting or vanity of the person..:wink2:
  12. Yes, you are very right...but I dont think it would reached to 100 US dollars per week unless you've spent more on food, clothes etc....it depends on the budgetting or vanity of the person..:wink2:
  13. I spend a less than P1000 a week, coz I live with my parents in our own house, I dont pay any rent and meal and other stuff are free...My parents dont obliged me to pay for food and bills coz I only make 2,500-3000 per two weeks..but out of guilt, I pay for the phone bill...Fortunately and thank God, my parents are both self-employed and make more money than me, my father financially support my US exams...I couldnt thank them enough after I passed the NCLEX and IELTS.. Back to the topic, the average tuition for Nursing schools in the Philippines range from 25,000-45,000 per semester...but one should go for a nursing school which has a good reputation and has been established for years...I dont judge the new nursing schools but I think they are still adjusting...
  14. 100$ a week??...When you live in Manila and you're single, you can spend a lot less than that coz the cost of living in Manila is not that high compared to other places in the world..
