Kaplan Vs. Uworld My Scores
I took my second nclex 8/7 i get my results tomorrow I got 75q and the good pop up, but i know i personally searched these forms about kaplan and uworld. On my first attempt i ran out of time and did 224q i was near passing and above passing. i used Hurst the first attempt it was good content but i didnt feel like it helped me at all. I got a full refund and spent it on other programs. Retake Plan: i thought i needed to learn how to speed up so i could answer questions faster so i bought Uworld and Kaplan and did 75q from each bank and reviewed rationals. I also used the 35 page study guide that is floating around on here. Uworld: my ending average was 55% on my second attempt i had 1 question that was very close to uworld. I found that the rationals were very helpful in helping with content in general. i did 75q everyday for a month and wrote the rationals down and studied those. i was scoring ranges from 48%-70% why i found this one helpful was it had lots of alternate formats which does help you on NCLEX. Kaplan: i did just the qbank and i bought the kaplan premier book and only read through it once. my overall ending qbank sore was 60% i was scoring ranges of 60%-68% my second attempt was more like answering kaplan questions. I personally felt i was doing a kaplan practice test and was shocked when it shut off at 75. - i have been freaking out about the questions on my test but it mirrored kaplan questions which are all passing level which has made me feel better about it. I personally think if you have a good understanding of the content then you should do questions to test your knowledge. Everyone learns in there own way and the i honestly think that the NCLEX so random. It just depends on what test you get. My first test was nothing like my second. Its be over 24 hours after my test and i am still getting the good pop up. BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS FORM IS ABOUT!

Retook Nclex 75q
JpGasmin, i would honestly have to say that UWorld was good practice i had 1 question that was very close to uwolrd on my test. Every question i was asked this time was just like kaplan for me. now i would say if i had taken uworld before on my first attempt then that would have helped me. my first attempt had more difficult questions then this one. I recommend doing both uworld and kaplan qbanks, for my second attempt it was all kaplan.

Retook Nclex 75q
Thanks for the response. we do have quick results so i will get them sun morning. i can see the pvt going either way if you scoreed more then the minimum. i guess im just on the fence because i think they are going to check it the second time and be like nope... plus as a retaker lots of anxiety!!! i also start my new job monday and i want it to be a staff nurse not a cct.

Retook Nclex 75q
"they" say its best to try after 24 hours is when its been graded twice. but that is the good pop up.

Retook Nclex 75q
So i retook my NCLEX today, the first attempt i ran out of time and did not pass. I got up this morning and went and took the test, i got there early so i could review over my notes and then walked in telling my self i was going to pass. I sat down for the exam and just started answering questions not spending too much time on them. IT CUT OFF AT 75!!!!! so because i am a retaker i decided to try to PVT i got the good pop (last time i did it it went straight to the cc) but that has done nothing to relieve my anxiety. My issue is the questions were nothing like the first one... i mean they were very basic and i know the number of SATA questions you get dose not mean anything. i had 12 SATA, 1 exhibit, 2 dose. My last exam was full of different style questions. I just felt like the questions were BASIC knowledge to me. i feel like i failed (i know everyone does at this point) but really i feel like i didnt pass because the questions to me seem on the knowledge level. What i did to study this time was just uworld and kaplan. i did 75 questions from each and reviewed the rationals. the day before i got a massage and watched netflix all day then took my test. i also reviewed the 35 page study guide. Im not sure if i failed or passed. i feel terrible and i feel like the questions were not on the right level to deserve a good pop up. so at this point i either did really good or failed terrible.

If you took the Hurst review you would know. The NCLEX lady is a reference to the actual NCLEX.

Nclex Review
Hey, it really just depends on the type of learner you are. I did the hurst review and i ran out of time when i took it the first time. So to me i was not lacking in content i was lacking in more of testing stratgies. Also i depends on how you learn best, i took the live course with other classmates because everyone felt as if you were in class room they learned best. I actually find i am personally a better learner at my own pase and can work with it hands on. Do you honestly need to buy a Review course i dont think so. I think you are better off with a NCLEX review book and paying for someone of the test banks like Kaplan or Uworld.

Help! Saunders or kaplan Q and A?
ddmad, what were your scores on kaplan?
-
I feel so stupid...
You have to stop talking about your self, you need to be talking positive to your self! Also cut out the people who are talking negative to you. Do not tell them when you are retaking because that will only increase your anxiety. I am a retake i ran out of time and i am also the only one out of cohort too. Your scores are fantastic just keep practicing and cut out the negativity and look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself you are going to pass.

Thanks for posting, i worry all the time about my scores not being where they are. But everyone also says not to worry about the scores. to me the scores are more of a way to know im on the right track. But then again we never know what questions we will be asked lets just hope they ask the ones we know lol! I retake next week and im starting to get very nervous.

Ran out of time @ 262, still passed
Actually the nclex does not test like that. If you are weak in one of the testing areas they test you on that not the subject ie. infection precaution or ob or peds. Im just saying personally i had the same question asked twice over c diff, i also know i was not lacking in that area since my performance report told me i was above passing in all but one area which was pharm. The point of nclex it to show them you are a safe nurse and no one every knows what they will get. They just have to look at the test break down to get a general idea of what falls under those categories. I personally struggled with ob in my nursing career and i was only asked 2 questions which im sure i got wrong.

NCLEX Re-take
I am retaking the nclex in 2 weeks, i failed the first time because i ran out of time. my reports said i was near passing and above passing. well this time i have been using kaplan qbank i range from 60-65% on the tests. I have also been using uworld average score is a 55% i am starting to get crazy anxiety i am worried BIG time i really want to pass but feel like my scores are not good enough to pass. I also planned a massage the day before the test to help with my anxiety. does anyone have any input or advice for me?

run out of time at 257, what are my chances??
Hey, This also happened to me but i got to 224 and ran out of time. I did not pass, but i have herd of a few who this did happen to and they did pass. As long as your last 60 questions were above the passing line you will pass. I think is a crummy rule but even running out of time and not passing is to me is not considered a real fail. Im praying you passed after all that hard work!

Uworld vs. Kaplan vs. Hurst? Which one is better???
I have used all 3, i did Hurst when i first took my nclex and the only thing i liked about it were the q review. I also ran out of time the first time i took the nclex. So i figured i need more help in timing my self and working on questions. I have been using Uworld and Kaplan and i like both, Uworld is just like the nclex to me so i have been doing more questions through them. I just bought the Kaplan qbanks and have been scoring an average 65-70% on those.

Failed due to ROOT any advice?
So, i have been following allnurses for some time and wanted to ask everyone's opinion on my situation. The situation: i took my nclex this week and i ran out of time so due to the ROOT rule i was only graded on the last 60 of my 224 questions. Which i can say i panicked when my time was counting down and started skimming because i thought i could get the pass before it shutting off. well i got my cc today and the i was near passing line in one area and above passing in others. so now i am in the situation that i have to wait 45 days to retake. so i am looking for advice and opinions on what to help me study this time around and hopefully not run out of time. I used hurst and did not find it as helpful as others have in the past. The questions are what was helpful. I am not exactly sure on how to go about studying last time i did a lot of questions and i think what took me a long time was i was reading very carefully and rereading. I also used PDA, saunders book and nclex4000 oh and i also have the mastery app. any words of encouragement or advice would be helpful. i didnt feel like i was lacking in knowledge and im sure i would have passed if i didnt run out of time but i plan on taking it again when my 45 days are up and i want to be prepared and plan on studying every day in 2-4 hour blocks. Thank you in advance for the help.
