Has anyone who started in geriatric care such as ALF or SNF been able to make a successful transition to a hospital?

Accreditation/Employment
I am wondering are there any current Nurses who graduated from a Regionally accredited school that lacks National accreditation but they were able to achieve a job in a hospital. I always see both sides of the story on this website but wanted to create a post if my own.

Residency program question
Considering the comments I have received on this post I do not plan on applying for this residency program simply because it won't be the most ethical and best option. Thank you to everyone for their advice. It really is greatly appreciated.

Residency program question
Well I don't see it as overestimating myself, I'm just a positive person and if something doesn't go my way then I work harder to change it. I have always been a person who plans and am excited for my future; therefore, I aim for the highest but also have backup plans at the same time. I thank you for your advice and opinion.

Residency program question
I am currently a CNA and also in Nursing school. I currently live in Florida. The most prestigious hospital in my area hires graduates from my school and I am looking into applying for a position for them after I graduate and take my NCLEX. There's only one problem. Their residency program is 2 years long, after I graduate I plan to gain my one year experience in Florida and relocate to California after I have been employed for a year and by then would have gained my BSN. I am not very fond of joining the Residency Program and then leaving after that year. Has anyone experienced this before, any advice? Thank You So Much

Double Drug Tests
I am currently in Nursing School but received a job as a CNA a about two weeks ago. I went through the interview process, after my second interview I then went to see HR to fill out paperwork to my surprise I was drug tested on the spot. Anyways I passed the test because I don't take any medications or recreational drugs, but I am constantly exercising and weightlifting; therefore, I'm very hydrated. Urine came back diluted and I sat for a few hours took the test again and passed no problem. My question is I have orientation coming up this week and don't know if they will drug test again at orientation and Don't want them to think I'm hiding anything with another diluted sample and already start with a bad rep at this facility. I completed the interview, physical, background check and pre-employment drug test. Does anyone believe they may possibly test me again. Thank You

Hello, I am looking into Galen College of Nursing in Tampa and I am wondering if anyone knows if they are ACEN & CCNE accredited. I have heard rumors that they recently received these accreditations but I am wondering the full facts of that.

IRSC Spring 2016 hopefuls!
Did you get everything situated with the Nursing program? Your scores were pretty high.

Ask a CRNA any question you want
I know it is required for acceptance to CRNA schools to have a year or more experience in the ICU but is the ER accepted experience also?

FSW Nursing Spring 2016
What were your total points for Charlotte? I'm done with prerequisites and am trying to gauge myself when I apply next semester

Intermediate Algebra Vs College Algebra
Intermediate algebra is harder than college algebra, you have nothing to worry about

Sumner college RN program do you need LPN before you apply? Oregon
More information may be needed here, what school are you applying to? Some schools give you extra points toward application for RN programs for achieving a heal care license, some don't require it. And a quick search on the Internet gives you what the TEAS exam covers. My best advice is find a McGraw Hill study guide, it explains everything so clearly.

Criminal Record
Thank you, she also did say all student conduct will be thrown out when a student receives their AA which I will have next summer semester 2016

Criminal Record
Thank you for your response

Criminal Record
Over the phone the dean said nothing is made public record because it is university proceedings not criminal proceedings. She also said the only people that will ask for these records is if I apply for a masters program and they call to request my student conduct record.

Criminal Record
Does anyone know if I broke the student conduct code at my school and had a phone meeting with the Dean if it will show on my criminal history check. I never went to jail, had court or anything.

Accreditation/ Job Opportunities
I haven't made my decision, I only wanted to give you the full information. But thank you for your response and help, I will keep my options narrowed to ACEN & CCNE accredited schools.
-
Accreditation/ Job Opportunities
They are approved by Florida BON. And they are also accredited by multiple agencies including private and government but they aren't accredited by ACEN or CCNE
-
Accreditation/ Job Opportunities
I have already completed majority of their in program classes. So it'll take me at max a year & I believe about 10-15 thousand for that year

Accreditation/ Job Opportunities
I will have all pre-requisites completed for every Nursing school in Florida and have my AA in general studies. I will begin to apply to Nursing programs in the Fall semester of 2016. Although they are not nationally accredited I have the Ultimate Medical Academy on my list of schools in case I am not accepted to a University or Community College Nursing Program because they are approved by the BON in Florida. I emailed Tampa General, one of the largest hospitals in Florida, about graduates from this certain school and I received a reply stating that they have and they do hire graduates from the Ultimate Medical Academy, and I was also thinking I could finish my BSN at Western Governors University after I am finished with my ASN. Any reply or input is well appreciated.
