  1. Has anyone who started in geriatric care such as ALF or SNF been able to make a successful transition to a hospital?
  2. I am wondering are there any current Nurses who graduated from a Regionally accredited school that lacks National accreditation but they were able to achieve a job in a hospital. I always see both sides of the story on this website but wanted to create a post if my own.
  3. Considering the comments I have received on this post I do not plan on applying for this residency program simply because it won't be the most ethical and best option. Thank you to everyone for their advice. It really is greatly appreciated.
  4. Well I don't see it as overestimating myself, I'm just a positive person and if something doesn't go my way then I work harder to change it. I have always been a person who plans and am excited for my future; therefore, I aim for the highest but also have backup plans at the same time. I thank you for your advice and opinion.
  5. I am currently a CNA and also in Nursing school. I currently live in Florida. The most prestigious hospital in my area hires graduates from my school and I am looking into applying for a position for them after I graduate and take my NCLEX. There's only one problem. Their residency program is 2 years long, after I graduate I plan to gain my one year experience in Florida and relocate to California after I have been employed for a year and by then would have gained my BSN. I am not very fond of joining the Residency Program and then leaving after that year. Has anyone experienced this before, any advice? Thank You So Much
  6. I really don't have any advice for you but this is great. Lol believe it or not I want to be like you when I'm done with school. I have a year and half left of Nursing School and am currently a CNA. Definitely plan on getting some certs between that time. Thank You for sharing your knowledge.
  7. How do you like it there as a student?
  8. I am currently in Nursing School but received a job as a CNA a about two weeks ago. I went through the interview process, after my second interview I then went to see HR to fill out paperwork to my surprise I was drug tested on the spot. Anyways I passed the test because I don't take any medications or recreational drugs, but I am constantly exercising and weightlifting; therefore, I'm very hydrated. Urine came back diluted and I sat for a few hours took the test again and passed no problem. My question is I have orientation coming up this week and don't know if they will drug test again at orientation and Don't want them to think I'm hiding anything with another diluted sample and already start with a bad rep at this facility. I completed the interview, physical, background check and pre-employment drug test. Does anyone believe they may possibly test me again. Thank You
  9. I am currently looking into Nursing schools to attend. Could you inform me what accreditations Academy of Nursing in West Palm beach has?
  10. Could you disclose what school you're attending?
  11. Hello, I am looking into Galen College of Nursing in Tampa and I am wondering if anyone knows if they are ACEN & CCNE accredited. I have heard rumors that they recently received these accreditations but I am wondering the full facts of that.
  12. Did you get everything situated with the Nursing program? Your scores were pretty high.
  13. I know it is required for acceptance to CRNA schools to have a year or more experience in the ICU but is the ER accepted experience also?
  14. What were your total points for Charlotte? I'm done with prerequisites and am trying to gauge myself when I apply next semester
  15. Intermediate algebra is harder than college algebra, you have nothing to worry about
