  1. No, i went to my local sherrifs office and was fingerprinted there. I sent my fingerorint cards to one of the fingerprinting agencies in chicago that they have on their aporoved list on the website
  2. Thanks .. I submitted in Feb. I got it the beginning of April. They were behind in opening the mail from what I was told . I'm just glad its over now and thanks for the feedback.
  3. Thanks , I sent my fingerprints 1 week ahead and attached all other items so i'm hoping for a decent timeframe ..i read some could take about 4 months ,1 month sounds much better.
  4. Hello , I'm interested in doing some travel nursing with dialysis as my specialty. I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight such as good companies to travel with since all companies don't cater to dialysis , a reasonable rate of pay plus housing(my cureent pay in AL is 30 per hour). I recently contacted advance nursing because they had a few opportunities in Chicago which is where I'm interested in traveling to , but I'm just not sure whats considered a "good" offer . Any input would be appreciated
  5. Hello, I just submitted my application for endorsement to IDFPR today (submitted live scan last week) and I was wondering how long the typical wait is to have an endorsed license issued . I read some older threads on here that says it takes forever and I was wondering if that is still true. Any info is helpful .. Thanks😀
  6. Thanks for the feedback, I was wondering how long was it before you took the classes and attended the Davita academy after being hired , it all sounds very interesting . . ....

  8. Hello I recently interviewed with Davita . I was offered the position on the spot and it also comes with a sign on bonus for previous dialysis experience ,I was wondering if anyone has any experience with their bonuses and how their training typically goes. I was told it was mostly on the job training within the facility but it was odd to me coming from Fresenius where we have classroom training as well as on the job in facility training. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  9. i recently interviewed for a RN position with davita in the Birmingham ,AL area and was offered 28 per hour with dialysis pct experience and promised a starting bonus of 5k and a salary increase after 3 months, but I have a friend with no dialysis experience at all ,actually a new grad and she negotiated 30 per hour with Fresenius.
  10. Thanks , I've been looking for information everywhere about the typical experience on this type of unit , I found a few and they reflected exactly what you said , which makes me feel like I selected the right job especially as a new grad . I appreciate your input.
  11. Hello , I was wondering if maybe someone could shed some light on the post surgical unit floor. I'm a new grad and I recently interviewed for a job on the post surgical unit, in less than 24 hours they called to make an offer in which I'm in the process of accepting.I toured the floor while there but it didn't seem too busy.It has 33 beds on the unit .I'm scheduled for night shift but will do half of my 12 week orientation on days, I was just wondering what I should be prepared for , I don't have much experience on a med surg floor accept for clinicals and I precepted in the OR and was offered a job there but thought I might need to get some regular nursing experience as well.Any tips or suggestions or even your own experiences are welcomed and well appreciated.
  12. Thank you so much, you have been very helpful. I've discussed the education assistance as well , that was another huge reason to work for this company, they reimburse very well and the fact that I previously worked there as a tech at a different location and know what to expect. I had great references from my previous manager who stated she would gladly hire me there if there were an open position and all the co-workers had great things to say as well so hopefully this helps a lot .
  13. By bucks , how much more could I ask for without possibly offending the initial offer ... I wanted 28.50 but am unsure if that is too much more then what they offered already
  14. I'm in Alabama its in the Birmingham area
  15. I'm a new grad with previous dialysis tech experience .I recently interviewed for a dialysis RN position and today they made an offer of $25.74 per hour , is this a good rate or is there room for negotiating . The ranges given at the interview was 25.50 with no experience up to 35.50
  16. So , I know this maybe somewhat off topic but I was wondering if anyone could tell me the starting rate for a new grad in dialysis , i also have experience as a dialysis tech any info would be appreciated
  17. I don't work there yet , but I have a job offer pending graduation and passing of the nclex which is in 9 weeks .I'm also doing my preceptorship there in the OR .I applied for a tech position , but I guess it made more sense for me to be in the RN position since I'm close to graduation and yes they hire ADN new grads .
  18. Thank you so much for such and informative response you give me so much hope .I want to eventually learn most of the other or specialties as well with the exception of ob-gyn (not my area lol) ..i want to become a travel nurse within the next few years i wonder if there is a lot of opportunity in the ortho sector for travel purposes ..oh well i guess i'll see what the future holds .
  19. I'm currently interested in being an OR nurse i graduate in 3 months and I just interviewed for the position of operating room aide and will transition to nurse upon passing nclex ..the position is in the ortho OR , is it easy to transition into other OR specialties because I'm more interested in general surgery but am willing to accept what ever is currently available
  20. Thank you , this is very helpful , even more so knowing that a new grad can be in the OR :)
  21. I'm interested in the starting pay rates at st.Vincent's Birmingham and st.Vincent's east if available for the position of pt care tech, operating room assistant , RN . Any responses will be appreciated.
  22. Thanks...what state are you in if you don't mind me asking ??
  23. It was an interesting experience but very much so enjoyable , just a lot to learn but i had a 3 or 4 month orientation including classroom and on the floor the biggest thing is making sure all the staff work together because this is a field where teamwork is required .
  24. Im approaching my last quarter of nursing school and I have preceptorship placement in the OR for 120 hours i was just wondering how likely it may be that i land a job in the Or as a new grad or is there usually more experience necessary for such a specialty .
