  1. I would just expand where you apply! Don't be discouraged. I applied to 7 schools and got interview offers from 5 and accepted to 2 (turned down the other interviews). The only reason I can think of for not getting an invite for Rutgers is my undergrad GPA which is crazy because that was 10 years ago at this point. Their applicant pool must have been out of control. Especially this year, everyone is trying to leave the ICU after the last two years of covid burnout, short staffing, and whatever else.
  2. Is anybody else's application portal not updated? I emailed them and they said they had everything and my portal would be updated before 9/1 but it never was so it made me a little worried. For example, some of my school transcripts aren't checked off. All it says is check back soon for a decision on your application but then on the left it doesn't say under review either. Last check is for application submitted.
  3. Can't believe we heard so soon! Congrats to everyone else accepted ?
  4. Was everyone else's resume using their template as bare as mine is? LOL just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly! I know I'm a bit behind but just trying to get my things in by the final February deadline and see what happens. It states not to put anything extra than what is on the template but it just feels so wrong without any job descriptions or trauma designations on it.
  5. great! power in numbers right? we have a tough year ahead and then comes boards and the job hunt! team effort we got this
  6. should we do one big fb group for all of us? I've heard the classes and even a lot of the professors are the same and go back and forth we could all help eachother out! but of course yall will be four months behind us and have diff clinical sites so I could see the advantage of making two separate groups! but what do you guys think??
  7. just got my acceptance letter!!! all wall applicants check your email :)
  8. Hello and congrats on all your success!! I was wondering if you could offer me any advice on how to go about getting the certifications you listed? I'm hopefully starting nursing school in a few months in an accelerated program and trying to do as much research as I can now to make myself more marketable in the future as you suggested! I've of course google searched it but a million different things pop up and I don't want to do the wrong thing. Any guidance would be much appreciated!
  9. ugh bummer! wall applicants found out on March 26 last year so I'm really hoping something comes out this week :) good luck to everyone!
  10. has anyone heard anything new about when they might be releasing decisions?
  11. I'm registering for the HESI for NJCU right now and I'm a little confused I just want to make sure I don't take the wrong test. I got the email with my registration code but it says it's the "A2 V-1 exam at Prometric." Is this what yours said should I follow through with payment? In one place it says HESI and then in the email calls it something else and it's a pretty expensive test
  12. yep still waiting too! my friend heard recently that she didn't get in so trying to hold onto the whole "no news is good news" thing but we will see
  13. anymore acceptance/rejection emails since that first round a couple weeks ago? so anxious!
  14. That just means you filed a fafsa using their school code and nyu has received it. Everyone who filed should see that under financial aid. Once you've been accepted the reward amount will show up there.
  15. Totally agreed. I don't understand how anyone from out of state could justify this cost unless their plan is to relocate permanently to NYC or have a trust fund lol. Personally, I have connections at hospitals all over Manhattan and NJ so the networking opportunities available with NYU make every penny worth it so I can get my foot in the door at a hospital in the city which is my ultimate goal and dream. Being able to commute brings the cost down a bit for me. The cost of living in NYC is astronomical even the taxes are higher just to go shopping. I had to first pay off my undergrad loans in order to be able to take out enough money to afford this program since there's a cap on how much money you can take out in loans. Never knew that before applying! A man posted he didn't know about the cap and basically got kicked out of the program because he couldn't take out anymore loans :/ Still haven't heard yet though. Fingers crossed for us all waiting!!
  16. I agree. But I'm trying really hard to stay positive! It's only the first month and as everyone has said before acceptances go out until June 15. And in the past a TON of emails went out in May. If we don't hear by the end of May then we can panic haha it's only just the beginning!
  17. Is there anyone who got accepted and declined the offer? I noticed in past forums the more people who declined the later other people got accepted! Thanks for everyone's help
  18. I read a LOT of past threads for NYU ABSN and I think I noticed a pattern that I thought might help everyone else if I shared for how they send out admission decisions. This is just a hunch though what do I know lol. It seemed like the definite yes and nos go out first. So if you have stellar stats and experience you got in immediately or just the opposite got denied. So if you're still waiting "no news is good news" seemed to be the common mantra in the past lol I think they weed through the applications as people commit to the program and are able to assess how many seats they can fill I have pretty average stats so I'm not expecting anything for at least another month so anyone else in my boat might expect to be waiting awhile too (I have a 3.0 GPA and a 3.6 prereq GPA. Attended a major university and graduated with a science degree- hence the low GPA I swear orgo is the devil- and a minor in psych. Finished my prereqs at NYU which I'm hoping will give me an edge) It definitely doesn't matter when you sent your application in unfortunately. It definitely makes me anxious knowing they've started releasing decisions though! Good luck to everyone! Fingers crossed Also, I never called NYU because I didn't want to bother but is anyone's transcript still unchecked on Albert who knows it has been received? Kinda worried about that...
