Ascension/Seton RN Fellowship Program
Hello TX_nurse_505714, I hope it is not too long to contribute to this post. I have been in contact with Seton RN Residency and Fellowship program and received an answer that may help you to sort things out. **We have specific rules that we must take into consideration of an applicant's job history in accordance with our education team guidelines. Our Residency program is for nurses that have less than a year RN experience. The second program is our Fellowship program for nurses with more than a year of experience. The Fellowship program is for Registered Nurses who are interested in learning a new speciality. For example, since you have PICU, NICU and OR experience you would qualify for all other critical care positions. Since your situation is a little different, we would leave it to the decision of the hiring manager and education of which program or if any of our programs would be best suited. At this time, we do not have any positions available for our Residency and Fellowship Programs. Due to COVID-19, we are unsure when our next program will commence. You can always visit our career site for our openings** Good luck!

You are annoyed for something you believe it is true, you made my nursing life and circumstances your beliefs. That's your mistake not mine. ?

Good Morning, Many of you, I am acting in a deceiving way. I don't exactly understand why and I don't have to share my life or my circumstances here. But I will however help you American nurses to see things from a foreign educated nurse perspective. Here is a few questions for you American nurses. You that have never spoken, written or listened in another language - Any idea how long would you take to pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) internet based test (iBT) with a minimum passing score of 83? Do you know what this number means? Secondly, do you know what it takes to pass the NCLEX-RN as a foreign educated nurse? Have you ever checked? Here some number for you.https://www.NCSBN.org/Table_of_Pass_Rates_2019_Q4.pdf International nurses fail the NCLEX several times, do you know how much study it requires from foreign nurses to pass NCLEX? FYI all this time we spend studying make us very knowledgeable. Forgive me to say that many, mamy foreign nurses are TOP notch nurses in their countries. They immigrate for many different reasons. Besides that, many foreign-educated nurses will accept job offers as CNA, MA ou UAP, these jobs (believe you or not) will give us a great idea and a feel of what being an RN is here in USA. Let's not forget that foreign educated nurses have Bachelors Degrees in Nursing, which is differently that many american nurses that hold Associates Degrees, so we have studied 2 extra years in our home country. Thirdly, how easy do you guys think it is to not follow the Boards rules? Unless you are crazy or out of your mind you would ever think to mess with them and lose your ability to work here permanently after building a family, found a home here and worked SO HARD to acquire a license. Thank you to all the nurses that stepped up to me. ❤️

I have nothing to hide and I’m not doing or will do anything illegal. I seriously have nothing to fear. I consider myself a very honest and correct person and that is why I wrote this message to hear from you guys what my possibilities are. I applied for an endorsement see how that goes. Stop threatening about Texas BON. I have dealt with them in the past. Very nice and honest people. If after all I have to move, I will. You guys have absolutely no right to “imply” or threaten me with things that I could possibly have done to get my license. Just stop and respect!

Hello Guys, Thank you for all of your replies. I appreciate your input and opinions. I decided to apply for endorsement in Texas. Let see how it goes. Ha! No I used my address from Texas and that's the reason I have a single state license, if I lived in Florida and had applied with my address from Florida I would have a compact state license. I am still waiting for my license to get in the mail. So I may get a compact state license. I don't know. Best to you all!

I don't believe your statement is correct. Again thanks for your reply. I will keep waiting for others to answer.

Well, I am well aware of that, however, I could not apply in Texas as they require for foreign nurse to have worked as a registered nurse within 5 years of the application and that isn't my case. I was allowed, I did and I have my license. If we could just focus on my question and share experience, that would be very helpful, Thanks for your reply.

I am a foreign nurse and was able to get a license in Florida, I am currently living in Texas. Has anyone experienced same situation? If so, what kind of Nursing jobs I can apply to? Remote positions? Thanks in advance!
