  1. I am returning to retake a course I failed and I doing things so much differently. I want to get this book and use it a lot along with my notes from class. I've read a lot of good things about this book and how it has helped people with the hesi exit exam and hesi specialty exams that are giving at the end of each course.
  2. The nursing program I am in utilizez hesi for mid-semester exams as well as the exit exam. I wanted to get some feedback before I purchase the book. Is the book as good as advertised or is it not worth buying it. Please be totally honest!!!! Jeff
  3. I have another pharm question I need help with unfortunately I have no clue where to start. I have never seen this problem before and it came up in my practice questions. Please help! Ordered: 1000cc D5W @32 gtts/min. Have: 15 gtts/cc venoset. How many hours will it take for the 1000cc bottle to infuse.
  4. I see where I went wrong on the problem I posted. I didn't notice that the problem ask for what rate to set the pump. I answered the problem for gtts/min and the problem doesn't ask for that. The answer to the problem you posted is 1000 divided by 8 which gives you 125ml/hr. The drop factor can be ignored in his type of problem.
  5. Thanks everyone I see how I got the answer wrong!
  6. I'm sorry my mistake its supposed to be 1500ml not 500ml. My math was 1500 times 10 divided by 24 and that gave me 625ml.
  7. Physician ordered 500ml of d5/NS to run for 24 hours. The drop rate is 10 gtts/ml, How many ml/hr should infuse? My answer is 625ml/hr but the professors answer comes out to 62.5ml/hr. Is my math wrong or is this a mistake on the professors part. Please explain Thanks!
  8. Thank you for the kind words and inspiration.
  9. Thank you! I wont let it prevent but I have learned so much from failing.
  10. I failed a nursing course in my 2nd semester by 2 points and I will retaking the course this upcoming fall semester. I was looking for some words of inspiration and motivation. I am planning on doing everything and sacrificing anything and everything to make it through. I know I can do it.
  11. Thank you so much for your advice. I will take it all into consideration and figure the best route I should take in studying and preparing. When it came to my grades. I did good on all the tests but I "tanked" 1 of them and it made it so hard for me to bring my grade up to pass. After talking to people and really looking back I think I realized what contributed to me failing. I work full-time so I plan on cutting my hours back, I was too confident and cocky, I didn't get "quality" studying time, and I just simply wasn't as serious as I should be. I know I can do this and make it through the program. I am so focused and determined and return and do well. I understand what needs to be done.
  12. That was such great advice. I failed cardiac/respiratory this past fall semester by 2 points. I will be retaking the course this upcoming fall semester. I look back at how I studied and used my time. I studied everything and I didn't use my time right. I have been doing a lot of reading on how to be more efficient with what to study and the material that is most important and covered on the tests.
  13. I am looking for advice for anyone who failed a nursing course and had to wait a full year to go back and repeat. I would like to know what you did differently when you returned. I failed a nursing course last semester and I wont be able to return until this upcoming fall semester. I will repeating cardiac/respiratory from my 2nd semester. I know what I am going to do differently and how serious I am going to take it but I am looking for additional advice or some good motivational stories. Thanks Jeff
  14. Rebecca, I thank you for your honesty. I also contacted that company and they recommended me to not purchase the online review course. I truly apprecaite tha advice you have given. After talking to a few people who have taking the course plsu the response the company gave me I am probably not going to purchase the review. If there is any other advice or some study habits that helped you please let me know. Thanks
  15. Rebecca, That is truly great and inspiring story. I recently failed one of my nursing classes of my 2nd semester and I have to wait till next Fall to repeat the course. Over the past month of so I have doing alot of research on how to organize my notes and different study habits that I can utilize that may help me undersatnd the material better than I did. My question to you is I am considering the onluine Hurst Review; I am thinking of prucahsing the online review around June or July to help me prepare for when I return to nursing school next Fall. Would it be dumb of me to purchase it? Thanks Jeff
  16. Hey everyone I am looking to see if anyone has a chart or diagram that would help me understand the fluid and electrolyte imbalances and values. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can post a nice easy diagram that would help me. I failed my Med-Surg course and this material was the main reason. I have to wait until September to retake the course and I want to master this information so next time around I ace the course. Thanks everyone for the help! Jeff
  17. Thank you guys for recommending this books to me but if you guys have copy of your own notes and would like to share them with me I'd greatly appreciate it.
  18. I dont have the book. Is there a way you can forward me a picture of something so I can see how they outline it .
  19. I was wondering if anyone currently enrolled in nursing school has ever organized there lecture nursing notes into a chart or graph that made it easier to understand and comprehend. I am trying to find a way to eliminate all the access or filler information. If anyone has anything please email it to me I'd greatly appreciate it.
  20. Can you give me some new or different ways to study the material or how to organize it better? Or what did you while you were in school
  21. Thank you. I am just very nervous and very upse over this. I know it is only a minor setback but it feels bmuch greater than that.
  22. I don't plan on transferring I was just looking at other programs for the hell of it. I am in a RN program and the course I have to retake is cradiac/respiratory. The material that hurt me and ultimately made me fail the course was the ABG's and fluid and electrolytes. I have to wait until next Fall to start and retake the class. I was wondering if you had any tips or different study techniques that could help me?
  23. I failed a nursing course this past fall semester and I will retake the course next fall. My question is it stupid to consider looking and applying to other nursing programs that also begin in the fall? There are a few schools I can apply to but I am torn on whether or not to apply there. Please if anyone has any advice on what to do let me know. Thanks very much Jeff
  24. I was so upset and completely shocked that I failed by 2 points. I have faced the reality that I failed. I am more focused than ever and I know what I need to do next time when I retake the course next September. Thank you for the support and if you have any study tips or better ways to organize notes please help me out. I am willing to make any changes that I have to.
  25. I failed cardiac/respiratory. I did bad on the respiratory content.
