I'm new to agency. Any advice???
some will eat u raw, trust me u get paid more than they do n u want THEM to HELP U?????? think again u have to be VERY independent, work well on ur own, think quick and hold ur own together, if u are this insecure i would suggest u stay where u are and go partime 2 days a wk .....some staff r great but know that U R D OUTCAST.....it takes time to earn their trust to prove that u can do d job so DONT count on THEM helping U OUT...u might not be so lucky ...u need thick skin and quickness about u.....trust me i know i am an AGENCY RN

WASSSUYPPP YALLLLLLL 1, thanks to everyone every poster every contributor on this board, you guys helped me with preparation, with the interview and everything...this has been 3 long years in the making, from passing boards, to passing my CCRN and CSC etc 2, remember IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING to aspiring SRNAs bust your ass, never complain, take the patients, absorb from your unit, learn , read, research, join the AACN get your certs CCRN, CSC, CMC whatever will give you the edge you better be ready to do it take extra classes, vent management i mean go above and beyond... 3, when you get to the interview SMILE, i mean really smile let it show thru ur eyes and even in ur answers smile through and you will be amazed at how well you will do and if u encounter any students never freak out in front of them they may tell u they are just your chaperones or whatever, i believe they are scoping you out for their program so be calm i cant stress this enough if u have to take a xanax or betablocker u better do so......dolnt come in sweating bullets, its not the spanish inquiry (can be close) 4. above all, have faith, pray and believe if its what you really want........ if i recall anymore pointers i will share just as it was shared with me........

Any Word On Critical Resource Inc In Michigan
hey RN, Critical Resource INc is located in Brighton Michigan but they service the entire state and even chicago as the recruiter told me so i think u will be fine in bay city. i used to live in farmington hills and got my BSN from University of Detroit Mercy so we will probably move back to the same area...theywere great over the phone i was very impressed she sent me all the paper work online via email stat Maxim was very disappointing so i will not be signing with them. Critical resource pays the most even more than i earn registry here in cali atimes...so they got me there, they are on telegraph road...their site is under construction but i think it is critical-resource.net or so,do a web search.....goodluck

Can I Shadow You?
HI, been a member for a while but not a frequent poster but i judiciously scour this site EVERY NIGHT before i go to sleep for new info... I am applying to CRNA school this summer for 2009, work in the Inland Empire at a large catholic hospital ICU, open heart trained and CCRN certified, about to be IABP trained soon. we dont use CRNAs at our facility, only MDAs and i know there is one i can ask to shadow but the rest dont look too receptive. so i was thinking how grerat it would be to shadow A CRNA instead...so please if u can or are willing let me know i live within 1 hr of LA . I am dedicated, diligent, smart, intelligent, spunky and very very eager to learn, u can even give me homework to do i will do it before i come, so please if u dont mind CAN I SHADOW YOU?

GUILT-RIDDEN: inputs needed
OK, PLEASE UR INPUTS ARE VERY WELCOME, I NEED TOO SEE THIS DILEMMA FROM OTHER NEUTRAL EYES... I once heard a man say on Oprah that "when a man says no that is the end of the discussion, but when a woman says no it is the beginning of a negotiation". This about sums up my dilemma. I am an experienced ICU RN, I am applying to CRNA school this year, I mean i am serious i am that kind of crazy organized person, i have all my ducks in a row, my certifications (CCRN etc) are in order and the only reason i waited to apply was money i wanted to be able to work n save more this year, my husband has been behind me but all of a sudden coz of heat from his mom (read cultural pressure- we are West-African), he wants another baby, we have a 2.5year old and i picked her up today from daycare and i felt sick to my stomach, i stlll do because the lady left her with her kids, and she had boo-booed, i had to change her there on thef loor, i felt soosooooooo guilty and i was telling her its alright baby not for long....i had originally bought his idea that she would be 6 by the time i finish school which in his opinion is too old blah blah blah but now i dont think i want another baby, financially it would be a strain but emotionally i think it would wreck me...i feel so bad like a horrible mother when i pick up my kid and by the time we get home its like 8pm cant do much coz i am exhausted then its bed time........so now my question i guess is what do u guys think? why do we women have to go thru this? i dont want to make CRNA school much harder than it already is with an infant to go? i came to the conclusion that my agreeing to have another baby was not a compromise as he claims i just agreed to do what he wanted...ahhhhh help me.....i am planning to make some concessions such as 1. if i dont get into CRNA school for 2009 then i will have a baby 2. if i do get in i will have one shortly after the program ends is this plausible................................

Anyone else studying for CCRN exam?
I PASSEEEEDDDDDD!!!! YEAH:yeah: I AM NOW OFFICIALLY RN-CCRN.......THANK GOD took the test this afternoon, was really easy, easier than i expected, as usual i overstudied, passed with an 86% overall, my achilles heel was MODS, i HATE that section arrhhh, but its all over, thanks to yall for all the encouragement and for those waiting to take it, it really is not tricky i acutally knew i passed as soon as i was done....a feeling i was lacking when i took the NCLEX because u had to choose the best answer between 2 really good options, in the CCRN u just have to pick the RIGHT answer, hence it removes second guessing between 2 good answers... Now to stomp on the CSC and the GRE is my next mission...
