  1. Sounds like a terrible preceptor, also. You don't want to work with her anyway. Happily accept IMCU and go back to ICU after a year or so. You will probably find it a lot easier the next time around!
  2. I worked as a tech during nursing school in an acute care setting in a hospital. Not only is it hard work, but making an occupied bed is hard on the patient as well. So yes, it is very stressful as well as physically demanding. I honestly think being a dental assistant would be a great career if you want to get in the healthcare field and can handle other people's mouths.
  3. I also took it after my first semester. Better to just get it out of the way. Yeah, dates when things were signed and dates when battles began and ended, stuff like that. I recommend Quizlet! I think I didn't ace it because I didn't really memorize anything, just kind of scanned things. So try to memorize important dates if you can! I did okay on the US one, only because I had taken a US history class recently. The Georgia one was harder IMO.
  4. To the person asking about the legislative exams- I also had to take these tests. I took the Georgia History and the US one. First of all, it is no cake walk if you're not a history buff! I think pretty much any history book will do.It did ask for exact dates, which surprised me. I studied for a few days and passed with 2 points above the minimum, so try to take it while you have a break in school!
  5. What kind of unit are you on?
  6. Also, did you hear back via phone or email after your interview? Thanks!
  7. Thanks for the info Aryele! Were you already a nurse extern with Wellstar by chance?
  8. How long did your interview last? If you don't mind me asking, which unit hired you?
