So it has been over a year since I said yes to this company (May 2021). The last time I called maybe 3 months ago, they said I was halfway done with credentialing. Seriously, it has been over a year. I asked if there were any NPs who already started and I guess those who are already credentialed in Maryland are already working. I am from Florida and have not heard from anybody which is good and bad because I might be the only one who is not credentialed or I may have been just set aside and ignored. Anyway, I'm fairly busy with my per diem jobs so I am not really counting on this job (if they are even still considering me).

HI! I actually said yes to this job and think it's a good opportunity, even told me that it can be full time once I'm credentialed with Medicare, which I am. I had an interview with that same HR who talked a lot and another NP via zoom who asked me more about myself and what I do. I have also been asked to at least give 16 hours a week which will be tough on top of my regular NP job. I finished the requirements on my dashboard. I really hope it's legit and it works as I am getting tired of this hospitalist job of mine. Please anybody, please send information if you hear anything.

It seems like you thought of this career change so well before you even posted on this site, carefully weighing the pros and cons. I feel your determination amidst the opposition. I also feel that money is less of an issue than flexibility and job security. Nursing is my 3rd career, started working in my 40's. I met a lot of older classmates and even met much older colleagues on the floor. Our hospital is always understaffed and hires new nurses all the time, at any age. I live in Florida where there are obviously more older people. I started working on the floor (keep networking; this is how I got ), stayed one year in telemetry, and moved to the ER which is crazier, but I found out I loved the action and independence. I am even faster than my younger colleagues. I am now in school for my DNP and probably will go to acute care or psych (this is monetarily friendly these days). I also want to teach at one point. I agree with getting a fast-track BSN program or Master's entry if available. There are a lot of entry level and new graduate programs around where I live. You do need an acute care experience for at least a year before you can move on to a specialty, but once you are there, doors will open up for you. I think hospice or psych is appropriate for your experience. And jump right in to an advanced degree. And when you're past retirement and still want to work, teaching nurses at colleges and universities will be awesome, too. My teachers right now are so old but still active and have brilliant minds. I am sure you are brilliant, too. In other words, it is possible. If your heart is in it, I don't see any reason why you should not pursue it. Best of luck!

I also got emails about this. I ignored the first one and even asked how was I nominated for this. I did not get any reply. The second time they emailed me, I responded and copied the code that they sent me. I got an email acknowledging my response and was told that somebody will be in contact to verify my information. I got a phone call from NY today for the interview (about 10 mins). It was like a professional interview about your career and accomplishments and I was elated that I was able to answer the questions with pride. I was then told that I will be listed as one of the 5% top professionals in my industry, that I will be a listed in the American Health Council and take advantage of networking, completed with my profile, that I will be sent a email asking me to complete my profile and to turn in a headshot, that I will be given a plaque, that there will be press releases about my joining, etc. In other words, it sounded legit and I was honored. Until I was asked if I prefer a lifetime membership or 5 year membership. She then gave me a quote: $700+ for lifetime and $500+ for 5 years. Then I said ok, maybe I'll just look into it at home when I get the email. Then she said that they take visa, mastercard, etc...and asked me what will it be. I realized she was billing me at that point over the phone. I asked," do I have to do this now"? She said that they take payment after the interview and as I am being inducted as a new member, at that very moment. I asked myself, "Is this a scam? Even the professional organizations I belong to will not bill me on the spot, so I said that I don't have my card and that I was actually on the road driving. The ending: she said she'll keep it open for the next 24 hours and I have to call back for the payment before I can be processed as a member. So no payment, no recognition, which was odd to me. Do I have to pay to be recognized? I thought it's the other way around. Their website looks professional and legit but why in the world should I pay that large money just to be recognized? Sounded fishy...of course, I'm not calling back nor will I answer her call.

Hi! I've been accepted to the BSN-DNP Program about 3 weeks ago but I thought they make early decisions for this program so I waited until now to share it. In one thread that I am in, an FNP applicant has been accepted already so I guess they're releasing results slowly these days. So hang in there:) Rosalie

Hello everybody! I posted this in another thread. I am reposting it here: I am also a hopeful candidate this year. I applied for the BSN-DNP Program. I interviewed March 15 but did not receive any email or link to start the background check or immunizations. I am thinking that those who did are on their way for acceptance. Anybody else in the same boat with me? I was also told that they are still interviewing until the end of March or at least this past Monday and Tuesday since the link for interviews ends at March 22. To those who are doing background checks, how soon did you receive those emails? I honestly did not feel well about the interview. I felt unprepared and sent my application on the last minute deadline (Feb. 28) but still got an interview. They also put me for Harbor Branch since I live in Jupiter. I thought getting an interview is a good sign but now I am doubtful. I was asked generic questions like why do you want to be an NP, why FAU, where do you see yourself in 5-10 years, what are you most proud of as a professional, what do you do keep your practice updated or current, etc. Any input will be appreciated, guys.
