Rent or buy textbooks?
I looked up the isbn you listed & pretty sure your school does a custom version of this book. My school did the same thing with my biology class but it's exactly the same textbook. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0321775651/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?pc_redir=T1

What class is it for?

Rent or buy textbooks?
Tbird88 - Some times the bookstore says that the book is a special edition for the school such as my one Biology book. I was the exact same as the popular Biology book that I found used on Amazon but completely different isbn numbers. The only difference was the cover & the school edition had the first 20 chapters compared to the Amazon version has 56 chapters. Try searching the title and the author and see what comes up. It's worth a quick search on Craigslist or Facebook like I listed above to see if anyone is selling a used copy. Sometimes students post paper ads by the bookstore too (there is a bulletin board right outside my schools bookstore with books for sale).

Your school might have a used book Facebook page too. I found some of my books for last semester that way.

Try craigslist too. I just bought all my books next semester for $145!

A little bit of encouragement
Thanks for the encouraging words! I am going back to school at 26 but I am excited! You can't go living you life with what if's and I can't change my past so I am only looking ahead at this point. Do I wish I would have done Nursing right out of High School?--- Heck yeah but I have two wonderful kiddos, a hubby, and at the time I did go after a degree I wanted to. It's never to late to go after a dream! Best of luck to you P.S. --- You aren't that old lol

I know "it's not a race", but...
Ruby - I would also check with your school before making your final decision since some require all of your classes done by a certain date to be able to apply for the fall. I am essentially in the same boat as you I have everything completed minus the A&P I and II plus micro. I could take the A&P I and micro this spring but even if I completed the A&P in the summer I would miss the deadline to apply. I choose to push my A&P II to fall 2015 and I will be taking some classes that will count toward my Bachelors degree. I plan on submitting my application Jan 2016. I personally do not think you will be "wasting" your time if you take other classes and have to push back your date to apply.

What type of laptop should I get?
Your welcome!

What type of laptop should I get?
No cd slot any more but honestly I haven't needed it. If you have an apple store close to you go check them out side by side. I have been an apple fan for awhile but they stand behind their product if you ever do have an issue and their Guinness bar is awesome! If you have a student ID they also offer a discount.

If you aren't looking to store a lot on the air then it would be perfect for you. The air you can not update the hard drive to add more space and that is why I went with the MacBook Pro for the more hard drive room. My dad uses his Mac's to run his business so he personally uses the Pro's on a daily basis and added a larger hard drive on my current MacBook Pro for me. Both are awesome products just depends what all you are going to have on it. With the air you could always keep your stuff on icloud too. If you just plan on doing documents and keeping your notes on it my Dad said you should be fine for storage. The Air's battery life and how light it is are awesome! Only reason I did not go with it is a enjoy doing photography as a hobby and wanted to easily be able to download my camera's big memory card without having to worry about space. The battery life of the pro is right under 11 hours where the air is right under 13 hours.

Miss-Kate I highly suggest the Mac BookPro! I have been a Mac fan for a long time now (my dad is a big Mac geek) but it is so nice to be able to connect to and easily transfer info to you iPhone and iPad. This is my second Macbook pro and I recently upgraded from my original that I bought when I went to college my first time around out of high-school. My first one lasted me 2006 until 2014 with no problems! You should be able to use pages and keynote that comes with the Mac but you can also upgrade to the Microsoft software as well. I use the preview program a lot too since you can edit pdf's through it and had to use it to enter text on some of recent biology stuff. I love my Mac and you couldn't pay me enough to switch to something different

Dr. Najeeb Lectures Online...
Has anyone actually paid to view these to help with studying? It's only $99 for 4 years access with 400+ hours of lectures/videos but wondering if it is worth it or there is better stuff for free on youtube for review... This is the website --- http://www.drnajeeblectures.com/
