  1. Drexel University MSN, Nursing Education Working full time School part time Cant wait to get started!
  2. Did anyone ever go through marital problems while they were in nursing school or when you became a nurse? How did you deal with it? Was your husband able to deal with the fact that you made more money than him? Thanks in advance for your input Cina
  3. Could you explain the little trick?
  4. I am a new nurse and I do 3 12's 7p-7a. We get to do a draft schedule so you pretty much get to choose when you want to work. I try to take 6-7 stretches. i have been a nurse for 5 months. Orientation was mostly days. I did a 8 hour nights for a few weeks. Then I did 2 8'2 & 2 12's for 8 weeks. We dont have to do weekends since we have weekend nurses. From year 1-4 you accumulate about 200 hours for vacation time which equals about 5 weeks along with 48 hours holidday. They are very flexible with the schedule They allow you to switch if needed without a hassle.
  5. I am currently in the RN-BSN program. Everything is done completely online. You do have one clinical but thats not until your last year and you schedule that at your convenience. Some classes have virtual meetings (only about 3 per 10 week schedule). There is so much info I could give you. If you have specific questions, PM me. Cina
  6. Glamal, How is the program at CCP? Did it take you long to actually get in the program. Mu husband is looking for a program and is considering CCP. I appreciate any advice. Thanks, Cina
  7. How has your search been? I am thinking about moving to atlanta within the next 3 years or so. Currently in Philly and want to leave. Thanks for the info. Cina
  8. Hi Is there any where that I can find info on this? I am doing a research project and I am having a difficult time finding too much info.
  9. What is important information to give in report? As a new grad I feel like I need to tell everything but I know thats not needed all the time. Thanks
  10. Someone told me they look at your last ? if you had all 265. If you got it right you pass, if not you fail??? That doesnt seem to be fair to me...
  11. Kaplan doesnt teach you content. And although NCLEX doesnt solely test you on content you need to know something. Kaplan teaches you how to answer the question. If you take Kaplan and you are weak in content, you may fail. Do what you feel is best for you. Everybody is different. People may have failed after taking either one of the courses but you dont know why. Maybe they were anxious. You cant always base your experience on someone elses. You are the one paying to take the test. Do what you feel most comfortable with.
  12. To rule out the other three I would say because of the risk for infection. Infection can put people with sickle cell anemia into crisis, which is what you are trying to treat. Hope this helps a little.
  13. my school says 5000 for RN.
  14. Hi Can anyone tell me about the program? Would you recommend it? Thanks
  15. Hi Can anyone tell me about their program? Would you recommend it? Thanks
  16. Thank you so much. I have been waiting for a post like this. I see so many things about NCLEX that are very discouraging. So many wives tales. As a new grad preparing for the boards, it makes it hard for me sometimes coming to the site. But I do anyway because there are a few positive notes. If I can tell the post is about someone passing or failing based on a "number" I dont even readt. Anyway, Thanks again for this POSITIVE note.. Cina
  17. Thanks to both of you for your blessings and advice! I did originally ask for Med Surg floor, But suprisingly, there were none! At my hospital, they do take new grads. I believe the orientation is a little more extensive though. Also, I think pretty soon everything will be monitored. So I might as well learn now right. Cina
  18. Hello I will be graduating in December and I already have a job. I chose to start in March so I can prepare for the boards. The floor I am working on has mostly tele beds but have 12 beds set aside for vent patients. Although I am sure this will be challenging and exciting at the same time, I am a little nervous. Any advice on what should be prepare for as a new grad? Any handbooks/materials that I could get that will be helpful? By the way, at the end of my orientation, I do have to take a test (Tele/Critical care).
  19. you can go to http://www.tobeanurse.com it will give you information about schools in PA.
