  1. I'm pretty sure that 70% is passing. I can't remember where I got that info prior to the test but on the ccrn test it said that 87 was passing out of 125 questions.
  2. There are 150 questions on the test. 25 of them aren't scored. On my test I had to have 87 of 125 questions right. I think that's about 70%.
  3. There is a blond driving down the highway, she pulls over when she sees another blond in a boat, in the middle of a wheat field, rowing. She gets out of her truck and yells "it's blonds like you that give us a bad name and if I could swim, I'd come out there and kick your butt!"
  4. I'm sure everyone has heard this one......................Can you pick up this glass and give me a drink? The patient points and touches the cup..........is in the hospital for a toe amputation (for example):rotfl:
  5. This happened about 2 or 3 am. Not A charting blooper but a verbal slip up. We had a patient in with a drug overdose, her pressures were falling. Phoned the doctor who told us to give her some tylenol and make an appointment in 1 month. The nurse that called the doctor was really new and just hung up. She called him back a few moments later after consulting others and got an appropriate order. when this was told to the doctor the next am he also got a good laugh.
  6. That happens so often it really sucks when splatter happens though!:rotfl:
  7. We recently had a young man in our icu that went on a trip with some of his friends. They decided to catch a rattle snake. they took it home got a little toasty and decided it would be cool to play with the rattle snake. You can guess what happened. So when he got bitten he of course came to the hospital. He said he couldn't understand why this was happening to him and complained that it hurt really bad. I laughed for an entire night, everytime I walked by his room and thought about how stupid someone must be to play with a rattlesnake!:wink2:
  8. I passed the test today. It wasn't as hard as I had imagined it could be. There were even some questions on the test that I had read before. I think they came from the Pass CCRN Cd. I'm sooo happy it is over for me. The anticipation of the test overwhelming. On my practice exams I was getting around 70% and ended up with an 87% on the test. :balloons: I recommend looking at the aacn's study guide/blueprint and making sure you know what is listed. I had some problems with knowing what an MI in a certain area of the heart causes what complications. It's not enough to know how to read an ECG and what vessel feeds which part of the heart. I also had alot of questions about PA cath pressures and what is high or low with each problem. good luck to all.....................:)
  9. i am taking the test on Nov 1 9AM!!!!!! A little anxiety here! My employer sent me to a review class, they guarantee that I will pass. I hope they are right. The people I work with are telling me I'll pass. I can't help but think that they must think I am smarter than I really am. lol. I work in a unit where only one person is CCRN certified, I would love to be the second.
  10. Congratulations!!! How was the test?
  11. I have to take the CCRN exam in the next few months. I've been preparing for this off and on for a few years but am still only getting in the 60% range in the AACN core review book. I am now in a charge nurse position and my manager wants all of us to be CCRN certified. Has anyone taken this recently?
