  1. I found more information on taking BSN level classes during you associates. At NCC, you can take Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) coursework and instruction on the NCC campus. But the nursing Courses are only open to students holding an RN license. So, you need to first finish your AAS and get you nursing license to take these RN-BSN classes.
  2. I am attending Norwalk, for me most of my classes run through the mid day. Right now I am taking one class that requires a Lecture 2X a week for 2 hours and clinical and Lab 6 hrs each. Gateway has evening classes. I think you can take a few science and liberal arts classes towards you BSN like genetics but I haven't heard anything about taking BSN level nursing classes. I can't see how you can graduate with a BSN if your in community college because our nursing classes need to be taken in sequence. For example, you need to take NURS 101 before you take NURS 102.
  3. Who went to orientation? What was your impression of the lab and clinical schedule? How do you plan to balance your schedule this fall?
  4. I would not be against that hehe. Are you bringing your family to orientation? I am thinking about it. I would like to bring them so that they know how much help and cooperation I need from from them in these next 2 years in order to graduate. I looked at the slides I think that it def makes that point that school is a job and I will need to balance school and my outside life in order to succeed.
  5. I want lab in the evening so bad!
  6. Thank you that helped me alot! Im going to norwalk community college. Our day orienation is next week or night orientatiin in august. Im wondering maybe i would get a better lab time if i went to the day orienration. First come first served. Did u get to pick ur lab time? Or have any say if it didnt work for you?
  7. At this point, i only know my lecture times. How do you know when you have lab? How long is lab? When will u start clinical rotation in your first semester? Thank you for your help.
  8. Does anyone know when clinical times will be posted?
  9. Has anyone taken the Hybrid Microbiology (online and classroom combo) at one of the Community colleges? I have been told take you need to take Traditional Microbiology by the transfer advisor (come into the lecture and class) and that the hybrid Microbiology will not count. At the same time, I have been told by the another counselor that on the transcript Microbiology is Microbiology anyway you take it. Anyone taken Hybrid Micro and have it transfer to Norwalk cc? If so where did you take the class?
  10. this was very helpful and insightful. Thank you.
  11. Hello, I'm sorry to hear this, I am getting my associates too. I plan on getting my BSN straight out of school too and any hiccup would frustrate me too. I am curious what happened?
  12. I'm registered! I told the advisor that I preferred weekend and evening classes. She said she would write a note. I hope I get my desired time. Does anyone know which books we need? Im in the NCC program.
  13. Nice! I have to go during my lunch tomorrow and I have one more co-req micro which I am trying to do this summer but all the classes are full!!
  14. Anybody meet with their advisor and register for their first class? I have my meeting this week.
  15. Ariana214 its great that you have a support network and people who want to see you succeed. That is a great thing to have and a driving force behind successful nurses. I am nervous about it because that is lacking for me.
  16. Hi Ariana214! We are going to be classmates! lol. I have submitted my acceptance letter, too. Its the first step. But there is so much more to do and deadlines to keep in mind. In terms of the online document portal, I have submitted most of my documents including CPR. I plan on going to the evening orientation on the 18th to learn more. I am curious, for all those who are starting in the fall and are working right now, do you plan on working through nursing school if so what are you going to say to your employer? How will your lifestyle/Schedule change? I ask because I know that nursing school is a big time commitment.
  17. I got into NCC. I have been collecting all my documents and checking mycommnet every second (idk why just so happy). I am concerned about class and clinical times. They are listed as: Intro to NSG Practice MT 11:15 am-01:15 pm WRFS 07:00 am-01:30 pm WR 03:00 pm-09:30 pm First of all why does the lecture have to be right smack middle of the day? I would prefer beginning or end of the day. Also, when are the clinicals? I am looking for weekend or evening times ideally. Congratulations everyone who got in! I have been checking this post, it has been my lifeline during this application process. It has been comforting to know there are others out there that have similar thoughts and questions.
  18. Yes, I feel the same way. Best of luck to you! Do you know how they will notify us, email or snail mail? I am checking both everyday.
  19. I am applying into the program. I received a 78% on my TEAS (25%). B in AP I (25%). A- in Chem, A- in AP II and B in AP I (50%), the nursing GPA is 3.47. I cant wait to for the decision, please post if you hear anything from the school. Looks like a lot of you on here, did well on your pre reqs and TEAS. Good Luck all!
  20. Have u finished school? Can u do an internship or part time job at the hospital through the school? Do u know if other students found jobs after graduation? Can u work part time during the program? Thanks alot for ur help. Also what was the admissions process like? Is it competitive to get in?
  21. Thanks for ur help what is ur schedule like now. Do u go to the ny campus? Where do u live? W roommates? Was it hard to drop everything and start the program?
  22. When are the clinical. Are the times flexible? Weekends? Evenings? I would like to do all my work on da weekends is that possible?
  23. Hello, do you think its possible to work full-time and go to school at Utica?
