  1. How about serosangious? (sp) ?
  2. Hahaha 3 wipes? Some patients take up to a half of a pack. Anyway to answer some of your questions, toilet paper is ok to use but finish up the job with a clean wet-wipe. I would think it would be fine to push the BM into the toilet with tp, use water from the sink and clean the bedpan with a paper towel and dump soiled water into the toilet.
  3. I find this outrageous with more stress added to the caregivers not to mention the patients. Oh, yes, don't worry about the patients as long as an extra buck is made.
  4. Sounds about like where I work
  5. Don't be confused WKShadowRN. It was 3am and I got a little off subject.
  6. I have not seen this in the area where I work. What I have seen as a new grad at my first job is: many people just love to toot their own horn! Yes, we nurses are great and some have so much knowledge tucked in their brain that they are like 'superhuman" or something. I respect you and I am happy for you and can't wait until I reach that stage in my career. However, that holier than thou attitude is no help to a new nurse trying to absorb as much info as possible during orientation. So please be kind and just a little more patient and remember back to when you were a new nurse.
  7. You are not too old! I just completed nursing school, passed my NCLEX and landed a job at 53y/o. Just be prepared to sync your whole being into your studies. It can be done.
