  1. I started working as an RN supervisor in the SNF ive been working for a long time (as an LVN) What happened is i got this other county job offer as an LVN then process took a while, after a month i took the RN Nclex & passed. I am responsible of course I'll give it few months then look for transfer options within the same company.
  2. Congratulations on passing the NCLEX RN! Did you say Kaplan has Qtrainer 8 now? I recently passed the nclex too in Dec. 2015 & qtrainer is up to 7th only. What's the qtrainer 8 like? 250questions too im assuming.. Thanks!
  3. Our school used Kaplan.. Though i still have access to qbank & Qtrainers, i dont think i can access the predictor test. Some school uses ATI.
  4. Thank you RoseQueen. I'll be very cautious. I'll give this a chance for maybe 6months but less than a year.
  5. Yeah 45 is really low. Some community colleges requires 65+ and other schools 75+. The higher the better chance of getting in. Goodluck to you anyway!
  6. Hi everyone! Im a new RN recently passed the CA NCLEX this December [emoji56]. Before that I've been working as an LVN in SNF, health fairs, biometric & flu clinics for 8 years. Yup it took me that long to first pay off my LVN student loan before doing my LVN to RN. Before i took my NCLEX i got a job offer as part time LVN in a County Pediatrics Clinic coz I wasn't sure if i will pass or not, i took it. The hiring manager asked me if I'll quit right away if i pass NCLEX i said ill stay for about a year as I also want to work & experience Pediatrics. Im gonna start working there in Mid January but i also started looking for an RN job like weekend or something. Am i on the right path here? The county job pay as LVN is lil bit less than what i get in SNF. But I'm willing to sacrifice for now just to gain experience & then be more confident to work in acute setting later on as an RN.
  7. Good for you. I can't do more than 3 75qs in a day:) i did like 250q on kaplan Qtrainer one time but it was like an hour after i woke up, coffee, lil bit of exercise then i sat to do a 250qs. Mentally exhausting yup. I alternated Kaplan, Saunders & Uworld[emoji38] some people are saying 'oh you'll be confused' but it actually helped me. I also made notes of topics that are new to me esp. meds. Goodluck to you! You should be fine[emoji5]️
  8. I'll say about the same. There are questions that are almost similar to the NCLEX [emoji5]️. I used it for about a month. I finished about 75% of the Qbank.
  9. Its not that bad but not the best choice either. As Ive told everyone who asked me, try other school 1st. I did my LVN there too (like 7yrs ago) Unitek was my last option & it worked out for me. I graduated & passed the NCLEX RN. Now its time to work really hard to pay off the expensive student loan.
  10. I had 83. My first was SATA about constipation [emoji23] then they repeated like several questions similar to it. People are saying you must have chosen wrong answer and that's why they keep on repeating or giving you similar topic. I got questions anorexia nervosa. Bioterrorism ugh[emoji37] A question on Thalassemia. Cervical CA. Risk factors, i looked up my answer and i made a mistake:) i was thinking of BREASt CA & i chose menarche (early menstruation). I got anxious toward questions 40's coz i was getting low level questions then i went back to analysis/SATAs again. No med calculations[emoji53] i was waiting for that! I had an exhibit type where u look up labs and notes. Maybe like 10-13 SATA's and the rest is mx choice. No lab values. Not much meds. Not much Mental Health. Med surg mostly & critical care questions for me. My average score @ UWorld for a month was 59% & my Kaplan QTrainer 7 was like 57-58% i think. I didnt do qtrainer 6 coz i was running out of time. The week before the test i was just basically memorizing and writing down most common lab values, theraputic levels, formulas like the rule of nines, drip factors etc & other basic stuff that I might have forgotten from too much information [emoji16]
  11. We don't have quick results in California. I took mine on Dec. 16 & my license got posted after 3 days. I didn't do PV trick. I was ready to wait for days & weeks. [emoji137]🏽 Goodluck to you.
  12. Goodluck to you! I did 2/3 of Uworld Qbank in 1month before my test. average 59%. I also used all of Kaplan's for about 2.5months+ Saunders 3/4 of Qbank. I loved Uworld & its rationales. I tested on Dec.16th & after 3 days I have my license posted on breeze already[emoji5]️ Focus & be confident.
  13. Congratulations!
  14. Thanks RiskManager!
  15. Yup. I did really slow on mine i think i got the blue screen/option to take break at 74 lol:) i was like what! 2hrs i still have one question to tackle. I did take a quick break & ready for another 4hr longest just in case.. Mine didn't stop at 75 but at 83.. Don't rush..[emoji137]🏽
  16. Don't study for long straight hours, instead do a 2-3hr quality reading or qbank questions (you can do 75qs then review your incorrect answers) & rest. That workout for me. 3-4days each week. I used Kaplan, Saunders book & online access, Kaplan strategy book & 1 month of UWorld. I remember i had a question on Bioterrorism too! [emoji3] I passed @83q's. Goodluck & be confident!
  17. Try Uworld. You can purchase a month long access for $40+ i think. Look for the 1 week free trial link. I used kaplan & Saunders too. But Uworld was really helpful esp with SATAs review. I purchased it a month before my test. It has an ios & android app. I do most of the qbank using my computer, suspend the test when i get tired & i can resume the test on my phone app. Goodluck!
  18. [emoji38][emoji23][emoji38][emoji23] I'd rather wait.. Really. I read a post here that on initial PVT check she said she passed or it doesn't accept her payment only to find out later that they were doing website maintenance then it says diff. Again or pvt accepted her payment something like that.. So there's some inconsistencies. But she passed anyway which is good[emoji16]
  19. Thank you! Ill check both[emoji301]️[emoji319][emoji322]
  20. Thank you RoseQueen. Do you have any suggestions where to buy it.?
  21. Lol[emoji87]
  22. Thnx![emoji301]️[emoji137]🏽
