  1. Judging on my past experience and some of the information that I have researched on this forum I believe your RN license may be initially denied regardless if you are on LVN probation or not. The fact that you have 2 fairly new offenses, LVN probation you are almost guaranteed denial initially. AB whatever it is called didn't for me and my old & expunged convictions. I feel if you continue to work as LVN, do well at work, school and make connections with people that can give you excellent references, you will able to come out with a license, may not be clean a free but you never know. Also, not saying you have addiction or anything but you may want to look into getting something that will state that you do not have a substance abuse problem. I'm just saying... I would really recommend getting an attorney once you are ready to apply. You may be able to negotiate a deal with better outcomes. Im in cali also. Hope this helps...Good luck to you!
  2. I sent in my appeal in Oct 2014, NCLEX March 2015, Stipulated agreement approved by BRN in Feb 2016, License post on website around 30 days later. Never received anything stating I "passed NCLEX" just license in the Mail. Part of the appeal agreement is you will not receive results until case is settled.
  3. I responded to another thread. Here u go... I have been dealing with the same issue. I was denied in End of SEPT 2014 and I still don't have my license. When I sent in my appeal in OCT 2014, I asked how long would it take to get a response from the AG's office. I was told usually around 6 weeks. Months went by and I heard nothing. Maybe in in March I finally called the BRN and got the name of the Deputy AG that had my case. He kept telling me I will have your statement of issues within 4-6 weeks. 6 weeks later nothing. I called him back, he said give him another 30 days. 30 days nothing. After that give him 2 weeks. During this time I was shopping for an attorney. I really didn't have the money for an attorney but i felt that he was giving me the run around. I got an attorney to make a phone call after the 2 weeks was up and just like that, had the state of issues in a few days! I was able to work out a settlement back in September but still waiting for the BRN approval. Here's my timeline I applied june 2014 denied end of Sept 2014 Appeal sent Early OCT 2014 NCLEX March 2015 Statement of Issues Mid June 2015 Signed Agreement Sept 2015 license pending Good luck to you!

  5. If you can afford an attorney, get one! Without an attorney negotiations will be difficult.
  6. Hi 3rdeyeRN, Thanks for responding. It definitely feels better to have someone to chat with that understands what you are going through. I recently took the NCLEX. It's really messed up that the BRN won't even allow us to get our results until after an agreement is reached. It doesn't make sense to hold the results in my opinion. I did get the good pop up though. Hope it works. Finally made contact with a secretary at the AG's and they are working on my case. Hope to receive something soon. Your story made me realize I may need to get an attorney. Other than that I'm just trying to hang on and continue praying and being positive. Please keep up us updated on your journey and I will do the same.
  7. 3rdeyeRN thanks for sharing your story. I am dealing with denial from the BRN also due to 2 different convictions 14 and 7 years ago. I also thought that both were expunged but after receiving my denial letter with a copy of my DOJ background check, I shocked to see that a DUI conviction from 14 years ago was not dismissed/expunged. It has been 5 months since I mailed in the letter to appeal to the BRN and I haven't heard anything from the AG's office. I knew that there would be a possibility that I would have some issues getting a my RN license but not like this. I am also licensed and I also work for a government agency so I was really hoping that they wouldn't deny me. I also sit up day and night trolling the internet to find any information that could help me. Try to be patient has been very hard. After reading your post I decided to call the BRN. They gave me the info to call the AG's office and I left a message. Hopefully I will hear something soon. I don't really know what to do next. Im taking the NCLEX very soon and I just want to move forward. I deeply regret what I've done in my past. It has definitely made me a better person. Its sad that we go through things in life good and bad. But just when you think things are going great and you forget about all that negative stuff from the past it also has a way of coming back to haunt you. Im happy that things are working out for you. You have inspired me to continue to stay positive.
  8. For those who have gone through having their RN application denied- I was wondering after being denied by the BRN and sending in a letter for appeal, how long did it take to be contacted by the Attorney Generals office. Also what methods were used when they contacted you (email, phone, or letter)? I sent my appeal letter to the BRN in early October. It has been almost 4 months and no response. Thanks in advance
  9. I am also in the same exact situation as you are shannonthecannon. My dates are 2001 and 2008. I am still waiting for some sort of contact from the AG's office. My file was sent to AG's office in early October 2014. I was wondering if you have heard anything yet. What was your outcome?
