Emergency Nurse Relief Act 2009- Update
Where did I say they don't have the right to expression ?? I was merely reminding you your roots and how you came here. Hardly, not what your fellow Filipinos expect of you. Your lucky, most probably when you came to the US on a work visa there was probably no fellow Filipino saying the same things as you are now. Congratulations. Off-topic enough?

Emergency Nurse Relief Act 2009- Update
There are lots of Americans all over the world. We can go on and on and I can say the same thing as you have said to all Americans working abroad. The thread will go off-topic of course but then it seems that if there's nothing left to debate re: the the original topic people cite things not related to it anymore. We are of course in a global economy and it's a two-way street. Maybe GM should move out of China, etc... But bringing up those things would be hardly fair and off-topic so I think people should stay on topic.

Of course, as always the thread has effectively gone off-topic again. I can bring in more off-topic issues here and we can debate 24/7.

Emergency Nurse Relief Act 2009- Update
NP Gilly. These are not temporary work visas being talked about. Once they set foot in US they are given permanent residency aka green cards so all the scenarios you mentioned does not apply. You came to the US yourself from another country, so you should know the difference between a work visa and being a permanent resident. Or you forgot how you came to the US yourself as you claim.

Don't forget to mention that it's only good for 3 years then it stops.

Emergency Nurse Relief Act 2009- Update
I have just read the whole blog you are referring to from the very start. It seems that you, using multiple usernames on that blog instigated the whole thing by calling foreign educated nurses as inferior. And you cry when people try to defend them? What crap are your trying to pull? It's also very easy to conclude that you are the same person who is trolling that site and instigating things like you do here at allnurses.com. You keep using the same xenophobic, ignorant lines from the past year or so. It was very easy to conclude that you are the same person. What were you doing there anyway? And how thick face can you get by bashing foreign educated nurses in such a thread and bashing the immigration lawyer (and therefore all immigration lawyers as well) who authored it on his own blog site. Of course, he will defend himself because unlike you he uses his actual name and does not hide by a username or hide on being anonymous. And by the way the debate/discussion that went there other commentators seems to be more knowledgeable than you are. Furthermore, they back up what they say unlike you that can't even stick with one story (nor stick with one username). P.S. Hope you don't make an excuse that it's not you there. It's very obvious, specially that you are obviously trying hard to bring it over here and trying to turn the tables on him and hope no one actually reads the whole comments from the beginning and just read the last few new ones.

Topic of the Day: GO AWAY FOREIGN NURSES!
Just like what Liverpooljane said, try to look back on your previous post. And I wonder who made the assumptions? You were trying to say it to an American w/c you assumed to be a foreign-educated nurse. I just reminded you that you were talking to an American (redranger) and not a foreign-educated nurse and it was very clear you were emphasizing you are American and just reminded you that the so-called freedom of speech does not extend here as clearly stated in the TOS. Try reading it again Also, if I may be blunt. What you are trying to inject in this thread has totally nothing to do w/ the thread at all anyway. Same way you did on the last thread that is closed now. It's nice to give opinions, but you have to make sure you know what is being talked about first and not hi-jack a thread you think you know what is being talked about but really don't. And what exactly assumption I made? That you are American? You really can't make a post like that and not make an impression that you are emphasizing you are American then back pedalling that your not entirely American. And even backpedalling that there really is no American culture or custom after emphasizing it in aprevious post. Also, I was just reminded you that you were trying to point out something to an American (redranger) and just reminded you that freedom of speech does not extend in this site per the TOS and even if this site is AMERICAN, everyone is expected to abide by the TOS whatever nationality you may be.

Topic of the Day: GO AWAY FOREIGN NURSES!
People in this thread are talking about the attitude of a few members in the site is displaying and consider offensive. This website, located in cyberspace is not "America". Freedom of Speech? Try to re-read the Terms of Service of the website regarding it: https://allnurses.com/terms-info.html Try reading the other parts of the TOS as well regarding being remaining polite at all times and not giving inappropriate generalizations. There should be no single custom that should dominate in this website. Only the TOS.

Topic of the Day: GO AWAY FOREIGN NURSES!
FYI: redranger is an American. This why I said in a previous post that people who do not know the whole story and even know who is who just don't join in. To complete things, ghillbert is from Australia, lost-stranger is from India, and a few others are from UK.

Topic of the Day: GO AWAY FOREIGN NURSES!
I wasn't talking about anyone in particular. It was a general comment, since may people are butting-in in this 'grievance thread' that was obviously allowed to go-on as it was already appropriately closed recently. It is not for anyone to say there aren't anything wrong going-on, whether it's so-called new members and even Staff. And since the thread was allowed to go-on, I decided to put my posts here as well. I am still on-topic as far as I know and I am a regular member now just like anyone else that gave their grievances at this thread and literally being replied to by others that they find no merit to what they are saying. Well, maybe this the very reason why someone has made a public thread about it. Don't you think? If people (I am using a general term) keeps telling them publicly there aren't anything wrong then that just proves even more their point and more the reason for such a public thread such as this. There's a reason why people resort to this.

Topic of the Day: GO AWAY FOREIGN NURSES!
I think those who don't know the whole situation should just stay away from this thread. The grievances being expressed by some members here are legit and these are regular members that has spent considerable time in the Int'l and Philippine forum. Majority of them have been members for years and regularly visits these specific forums, so I think they know what they are saying more than people who have just become a member very recently or members who only occasional visits these forums. Also, take time to consider that many members from diff. nationalities have observed this as well and not just one race trying to defend themselves. And they are REAL members. I, too have observed what they are complaining about. For those who don't me, since there are many new members and old members that only occasionally or seldom posts in the Int'l forum I have been a member of AN for more than 3 years now and 2 out of those 3 years as a moderator here in the Int'l forum and Phil. forum. So, I think I also know what I am talking about as well. While I was a moderator here, I concentrated on the Main Int'l forum and the Phil. forum (and visit it almost everyday while I was a mod) so I know the regular members here and those who only occasional come here and basically butt-in on threads they either don't know about or know little of or only know part of the whole story. Best, you don't join in this time around, if only just for this thread. The situation has been going-on for months now. Sorry, but I find it hard that no member of the Staff don't know of this.

Topic of the Day: GO AWAY FOREIGN NURSES!
I agree with you in most parts but everyone should realize that the ignore function only works individually and some members expects the TOS to be enforced consistently. If the issue being raised is allegations of discriminatory, xenophobic, or prejudice remarks a simple ignore function doesn't really do much. It's still there for everyone to see and read. People. all over the world read these bulletin boards. The registered members and paid member aren;t even half the story. There are far more people lurking and reading this BB as "guests" and they don't have ignore functions. Also, if there are already a significant number of members complaining or citing their grievances from a good cross-section of the site from diff. nationalities, including a few Americans, the staff should look into it and not resort into defending themselves publicly. Also, if members resort to publicly starting a thread instead of reporting it or using the admin help desk means they may not trust that anything may not be done regarding it. And after reading the posts in this thread and from the responses so far, I do not think anything will be done either. Some may even regard some responses as being 'arrogant'. And really, what is moderating or banning a few offensive members with regards to loosing more members as a result of not doing anything on those few members?? Those few members you refer to who do what you say are already considered internet trolls. Preventing members in barging in threads a.k.a. hi-jacking threads and injecting controversial and off-topic posts not related on the thread itself and sometime may not even be related to the sub-forum most often times results ultimately in more arguments and hate. This is from the TOS: Being a premium or a platinum member should also not be a hindrance in enforcing the TOS. The paid membership is only there to give extra benefits and should not be used as an excuse for not enforcing it.

Has Philippine nurse training changed over the years?
It's unfortunate what's happening here lately. Members constantly hi-jacking threads and posting off-topic posts and the it's being permitted to be done Most of the arguments happening here are because some members keeps hi-jacking threads and posting off-topic posts in the first place.

How do you think the New US President will affect Retrogression?
I agree. However, if people gets posting new topics that is off-topic and keeps reviving the thread with off-topic posts then it would never stop.
-
How do you think the New US President will affect Retrogression?
You have taken my posts out of context. Same way you are also taking rngrad2006's post out of context as well. Anyway, people can compare our two posts and judge for themselves. At least, I was able to express my opinion w/o being condescending nor result in name-calling.

How do you think the New US President will affect Retrogression?
I think some are confused about "retrogression". The term retrogression only pertains to people who are doing things legally. It pertains to people who have gone through the whole immigration process already and just waiting for visa numbers to be allocated. "Illegals" are not part of the immigration system, that us why they are called "illegals". What some are you may be thinking of instead is "amnesty" because that is the only way an "illegal" can be turned to "legal". Also, both camps should not expect anything yet from Obama regarding immigration. Just very recently he said that he has no problems if his Aunt who is living illegally in Boston be deported. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not so hot on "amnesty" or "path to citizenship" either. However, these are politicians and they can change their minds depending on the tides.

How do you think the New US President will affect Retrogression?
Sorry but you are still taking my post out of context. This would be my last post regarding the issue as I do not want my posts taken out of context anymore. That was post was in response to a specific post and that only. Just hoping someone understands my point. And when I say you do not understand my point it means you do not understand my point. You cannot say you understand when the original author or poster says you don't either. When you still insist that you do besides what the original author says then that just proves that you are taking it out of context alright.

How do you think the New US President will affect Retrogression?
Well, you are taking my whole post out of context. I never said illegals should not be treated. Where in my post said that? All I said is that they are being treated even w/o insurance w/c is true as you've said. I never said no US Citizen don't evade taxes either or do not do shady or criminal activities as well. You are the one that said that, not me. Obviously, everyone regardless of status and race do. All I said is that illegals don't pay taxes and do other small illegal things just to be able to stay, w/c is true as well. Go over my post again and yours and you will see that it is you that have made all the presumptions and assumptions. Not me. Now who's prejudice ?? The only point of my post is why the double-standard ?? Legal migrants and workers don't have the right to send money back home but Americans working abroad can? And before anyone can put my post out of context again, I am not saying Americans working abroad don't have such right. Everyone has. Hope that's clear. And why treat illegals more valuable than legal permanent residents and legal workers? Why question legal residents and workers on where they put their money to? And the examples I gave about buying products is just to prove a point that almost all products that can be bought now does not go to just one country. If it's made in China, and repacked or imported back to US then a % goes to the Chinese and certain % goes to the US and a certain % goes to all others in-between. Toyota having a plant in the US does not mean everything goes to the US. There will still be a certain % that still goes to the Japanese. And that is precisely my point. GM have plants in China as well and Ford is in the green in Europe. Ford sells more vehicles in Europe than they sell in US. But that's not the point. You got lost with that. The only point I am driving at is that no one has the right to tell anyone where they put their money in and say to spend their money only in the US or to educate themselves or their children in the US only (and if they don't they are not contributing to the US' greater economy) just because they are immigrants and not naturally born in the US when Americans buy foreign-made products as well and it does not matter whether 100% foreign or only partially. Sorry, that you missed the point and I do not know if anyone of you will get my point. But I have to say something and think I worded my post respectfully enough to the best of my ability because I know some of you can't take constructive criticisms. Last time i checked this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

How do you think the New US President will affect Retrogression?
Before I begin, I would like to emphasize that all that I am going to say, I say with out most respect. Your post is wrong in so may ways. First of all no one has the right to dictate what one do with their hard-earned money. What they do with their money, how they spend it is their own business. What is wrong with sending a certain % of money home ?? That has been done for centuries by all immigrants. Also, anyone living and working in the US is contributing to the greater economy one way or another. A legal worker or a permanent resident is already contributing to the American economy just by paying the proper taxes. Does spending inside the USA automatically means everything goes to the American economy as well ? If people buy Toyotas, Hondas; toys, including iPhones, Motorola cel phones (all made in China), luxury bags and items from Italy they are sending a certain % already to other countries. Are Americans buying Toyotas and Hondas less American than Americans buying GMs and Fords? Does an American buying a product entirely made in another country (like luxury bags/shoes and other items) and just imported to America for retail less American ? How about Americans that choose to retire to other countries and buy their retirement homes or condos there? What about Americans that are working abroad? Many do work in other countries like Japan, UK, EU, etc.. Americans are all over the world. When they send money back home in to the US or choose to keep the money they earned from a foreign country in US international banks or in US mutual fund companies and not on local banks and financial institutions are they labeled ingrates by the country they are working in? Aren't they contributing significantly already by simply working in the country they are in ? Of course, they are. Then why should it not be the same if it were the other way around? Why the double-standard? Illegals are illegals whatever job they are doing in the US. They are not contributing taxes, and by the way they also send money back home as well. Lets see. Illegals don't pay taxes, sends back (untaxed) money back home, some (if not all) still gets treated in the E.R. and health facilities even if uninsured, gets into shady deals with loan sharks, somehow some gets approved for mortgages to save on rent money but confident they can walk away from the shady mortgage deals (w/c they should have not gotten since they are illegals but somehow happens) and cannot be traced since they are illegals. If the illegals are the ones that the US economy depends on then everyone (US Citizens, permanent residents and all legal migrants and workers) is screwed. They are obviously more a liability to the US economy than they are worth. Anyone working legally in the US is worth far more than any illegal, whatever job these illegals do.

immigrant visa denials
Congrats to your friend. However, your friend need not pray that her case be denied. She can easily cancel it herself. That is, if she wants to be responsible about it. If she talks to the one who petitioned her and they come to terms to cancel the contract amicably then that will save everyone headaches, time, effort/energy and money anywhere from NVC or USCIS having to keep her file and sending snail mails to her agency and/or lawyer for updates, to the agency or petitioner having to pursue the case and updating things for her. The time, effort and money that will be saved by the contract being cancelled sooner rather than later will have positive impacts for everyone that is involved in the whole process. Anyway, she has no intention anymore and very satisfied in the country she is currently in now. It frees up a slot in the queue and a visa number or visa numbers if with family. As far as possible repercussions of cancelling the contract and possibly paying a cancellation fee, that provision in the contract will be enforced anyway one way or another if the petitioner or agency really wants to enforce them. Also, by cancelling now and talking to the petitioner/agency early before they spend more time, effort and money in a case that the beneficiary has no more intentions to fulfill your friend stands a chance of settling the cancellation of the contract amicably and even stands a chance that the cancellation fee provision maybe forego or at least brough down to as much as just paying for the amount they have spent for her case. That is, if your friend wants to be responsible. Otherwise, she can just wait for the process to go through at the very end and just drop the bomb at the last moment and the visa number/s will go to the unused/wasted visa number pile instead of going to another person that needs it.

NVC -CP- GC Tracker
Congrats again pretty neirelle. :dancgrp: agp_ph is right as well. There has been a few reports who were given their packet 4s who have PDs that are within a few months of the cut-off dates, so those whose PDs are near the cut-off date may want to contact NVC to double check. Nothing to loose to check. Goodluck to all those w/ 2005 PDs.

PRC memo for October graduates, cannot take the board exam?
Just like what dave keeps saying. There is really is no reason to do things haphazardly both on the student's side and on the school's side and another 6 mos.or so of wait should not affect anything. The school will also prefer that their students be able to review well for the exam as they have a vested interest on school ratings. As far as the school is concern, it would be better for them to delay it for their student's own good and the registrar's office do not need to do things in a hurry as well. Less than 50% passes the exam, even if the student had a full 2-3 mos. of review that was common the last few years for those who graduates on the usual / traditional graduating dates. Many people also underestimates the NLE. Anecdotally, it is harder to study and pass the NLE than the NCLEX. Many also anecdotallly finds passing the CGFNS exam harder than both the NCLEX and the NLE. I know many MD-RNs that can't pass the CGFNS exam but readily can pass the NCLEX and the NLE. All 3 exams are also quite diff. from each other. Just my humble opinion.
