I went ahead and pulled a Leroy Jenkins and resigned effective immediately. I did not like the fact that the MD wanted the NPs to perform X-rays. I have never been trained as an Xray tech and it is not within my scope of practice. Thanks for all of your advice and suggestions!

I started working as an FNP at a stand alone urgent care which just opened its doors eight months ago. I have only been working for 10 days and I do not feel comfortable with the way the MD practices. I have insisted on signing my standardized procedures (I'm in California) but he keep ignoring me. I signed a contract stating that I would give him two months notice if I wanted to leave. The contract states: In the event either party desires to dissolve the agreement they should provide the reason for the dissolution in writing to the other party with a minimum of 60 days notice. Failure of the Nurse Practioner to provide a 60 day notice will result in a penalty of 25% of final pay and legal action as deemed necessary per California laws. The penalty fee will be used to temporarily replace hours scheduled or to be scheduled with another provider. Has anyone experienced a situation like this? I want to leave right away because I don't even have a physician/NP agreement but I don't want to be sued. Thank yo so much!!

Mark Boswell's YouTube videos are very informative and will not put you to sleep. I also ordered his study guide by going to his website and studied that before taking and passing the CEN. Good Luck!!

My online physiology course doesn't require "lab time" but there are case studies that we have to do and post discussion questions. The case studies are usually 4-6 questions long.

Fortunately, UCLA accepted my Research course that I took at APU.

I am currently taking physiology online through UC Berkeley Extension. I did not know that UCLA Extension had the same course. I would have taken it at UCLA instead. UC Berkeley's course is self paced but you have 6 months to complete the course. The final needs to be proctored. I am enjoying the course so far, and it is a good review.

I have created a FB page titled UCLA MSN/APN 2015 cohort for all of that are starting this year.

I applied for the FNP program and I found out on Saturday.

I got a decision 2 weeks from the time it got submitted to faculty for review.

I applied and got accepted to Georgetown University's distance program but the cost is outrageous. I applied to places where I did not have to find my own preceptor. In my opinion, UCLA is my choice because they are affiliated with many hospital's and organizations.

From previous years, acceptance letters are sent within a 2-3 week period. GOOD LUCK!!

Thank you!! I received my notification via email. On the email, there was a link that took me to the status page.

I got an email with a link to the graduate division portal and a printable version of the acceptance letter appeared.

The email was timed at 0200 hrs this morning.

Sorry to jump in on the MECN forum but I just received my acceptance letter to UCLA's MSN/FNP. I woke up this morning to the good news! Congratulations to those who have been accepted!!! The letters are out early this year.

I just received my decision letter from UCLA!!!! I got accepted to the MSN/FNP program. I am so glad that they came out earlier than expected.

Thanks for the info passion! The wait is the hardest part and hopefully we'll find out in March. I am retaking physiology right now at UC Berkeley extension just in case I do get accepted. One less thing to worry about. I actually got accepted at Georgetown University's FNP program but my my #1 choice is UCLA.
