  1. It's a good idea to use an anonymous username on sites like this.
  2. What are you going to do when life happens again, stop going? That's what you did three semesters. This is what your school will be thinking about. They want students to finish the program and pass NCLEX, because this makes the school look good, which is good for business. You are a risk because of your track record. It would be a major benefit to take the 12 credits and clean your record.
  3. What's the market like for ADNs in your location? It might not be your first choice, but it's better than no choice at all. If you can't afford the program, you can't afford it. Either you'll need to take time off to make more money to pay for school, or you'll need to choose a cheaper option.
  4. Would love to see the budget that would allow that on a CNA's salary.
  5. How do you plan to pay for your degree in the Bay Area? CNAs don't make a living wage here without income from a spouse, family, etc. Advice from a stranger: I would stay put and finish school, get that required year of RN experience and THEN move to SF.
  6. I'm just a stranger on the internet, but it sounds to me like you have what a lot of people want. If I were you (again, I'm a stranger) I would volunteer to get that feeling of helping others. You don't have to change careers to be a useful citizen. I would also recommend looking through the forums here for stories. Many nurses find that the job is demanding and largely thankless.
  7. Make finding a counselor/therapist your top priority. There are a variety of medications; if you are still so lethargic that you can't get out of bed some days, there might be something better suited to you. There are also behavioral techniques they can teach you, etc. You are absolutely not alone, it only seems that way because of the stigma surrounding depression. Best wishes.

  9. Yes, get a new job first before resigning. Give whatever notice is stipulated in your contract.
  10. I have two iPad pros. They're just big iPhones that you can draw really well on. The pencil and keyboard will cost a few more hundred dollars on top.
  11. When you said earlier that you're usually "3/5 with the practice questions", do you mean that you score 3/5? If so, that's 60%. It's not really advice, but my hardest class so far was chemistry. I would study, think I knew what was up, then get a C on the exam. For me, I realized that when I took the exam I would rush though it. I always finished before anyone else in the class. I was finishing fast because I usually misread several questions, or would make an obvious mistake in a calculation(but didn't look back so I missed it). For my third exam and onward I waited until time ran out, rereading all of the questions. Maybe you do something like this too? Either way, it ridiculous that you can't review your exam afterwards. I'm sorry that you're going through this
  12. Your number one goal is to succeed in getting your education. If your classmates snub you, it only means that they are idiots. Please don't let their attitudes deter you!
  13. Do home job and school job know about each other?
  14. I became an atheist about a year ago. Though I was never really devout as a Christian, before a test or the likes, I would pray for strength, to be the best I was capable of being, and for whatever outcome that would lead to the most happiness. Most of the time I was praying before a competition, and as a teen I was the type who felt guilty for winning. Recently, I was sick with nerves when I took my state CNA exam, and there was no longer anyone I would pray to. And I was determined not to let my nerves set me back into a religion I don't believe in. I still did well and passed, without prayer, and got some excellent compliments from the evaluators as well. Of course, those who believe will believe that the outcome was still according to god's will, despite my disbelief in one. Anecdotes aside, there's actual research on the effectiveness of prayer, just a Google Search away :)
