  1. If it helps because I currently work for a hospital. ..but usually they like to hire new nurses and train them :)
  2. Ok... I'm moving to California when I graduate and obtain my license thank you for the informative info. Always good to know for future moves. I heard some of the home health nurses here are making McDonald wages $10-$13. I think they do have more medicare subscribers around here and perhaps that maybe partially the reason. Not sure :/
  3. I am planning to go to school soon to become a future RN and would like to know.... From those out there in the home health field what their jobs are like and..... How is the salary in south Florida ? I also plan to become an NP and wonder if part time school is even possible with this type of job? I am a well organized independent person and feel this job would be perfect for me...however...I've read on some other forums that the pay is terrible and they overwork their nurses :'(.... Any experiences or advice out there would be nice :)
  4. Question to anyone that can answer and help out.... Does NOVA offer scholarships to students? I heard through a friend that she knew someone that pretty much had half her tuition paid for Again, i dont know how in the world she got that deal but I am like...what should I do to get that same scholarship? I really dont have any one that I know personally that earned a scholarship but Id like to see if anyone out there was able to get one and how it works exactly? Thanks so much!
  5. I am sure this question has been answered somewhere in this post but I couldn't find it anywhere :/ I am checking to see what the regular schedules are like for South campus & Central campus. Not the summer versions, because I would like to start in the Fall term. Any information would be great It seems like everyone is so helpful and nice on this forum so thank you so much for all the info and time taken to help others.
  6. I'd love to know south campus schedule as well I'm gonna be ready for August :)
  7. Thank you so much for all the information. Really nice to see other students helping us!
  8. Btw...thank you for taking the time to post this. I'm sure many of us feel a sense of confidence when reading your post :)
  9. Can someone share what their weekly schedule is like? Like the school schedule including clinicals? I am scared I won't be able to cook dinner or help my stepson with school work :/ just trying to plan out something for my future as an nursing student
  10. You have given me so much info that I am so grateful of this. Not many people take time to share their experiences so thank you so very very much! I'm okay with suffering a year of hard work and I also don't have a life now lol so I guess I'm a good candidate lol. No kids and I'm 31 ...no social or party life. Im like an old lady over here. I'm ready!! :) I guess I'd like to know if the professors are good as far as teaching and quality. Do they rush and throw you under the bus or do they give you the opportunity to get an A if you bust your butt. Just curious. I maybe attending broward college but I also want a Bachelor's in management and nursing. That's the only reason I was considering FIU. Thank you again!!
  11. If anyone has any info on my question....it would be greatly appreciated :) If a student has a BAS degree already but is not an RN...does anyone know how many years it will take to do the nursing program at CC in order to earn a masters of nurse practioner degree? Not sure if they have an A.O. program like FIU where you do three semesters and can sit for the NCLEX. Hopefully CC has something similar :)
  12. For those in this program, can you share your experience so far? What is the maximum they allow into this program?
  13. thank you....this answers my questions :)
  14. This was my question..... " difference is in what you learn when going an RN program or a PA program" What I am asking is...WHAT you learn. I know the differences in the degree one can earn and the years it takes. I know the differences in what the careers are and what they do. I am asking about the educational learning experience. Thanks for your input though. I could understand how you could have read the question the wrong way.
  15. you didn't understand my question. We aren't comparing the profession. ...we are comparing the educational learning experience.
  16. I'm definitely picking up on that from where I work. Many patients that call don't want a PA or NP. They feel weird not seeing an MD. I try to explain to them what the differences are. They always feel weird about it.
  17. How was your math exam? I am math retarded....but still passed algebra somehow. I hope it's not like algebra :,(
  18. That's how I feel at work now...yelling screaming patients in need of care and I'm always so patient and calm because I know how frustrating it is to be sick and not be able to see a doctor I'm always trying my best and hardest to help them no matter what the situation.
  19. Thank you so much! :)
  20. Down in South Florida area....the nursing school is brutal and the PA program a little less brutal. It could be different for everyone or depending the experience students get in the college. I just know from the comments I've received from the RN and PA students. I have the passion to do patient care and treatment but can't stand the way RN'S get treated over here with no respect. It makes me feel bad for them and wished there was more respect for them since they study so hard.
  21. Thank you...this makes a lot of sense. :)
  22. I wanted to know what the difference is in what you learn when going an RN program or a PA program? I understand the years of education involved but wanted to know how both programs differ as far as the curriculum or what is being studied. I feel the RN program is more intense than a PA program, I could be totally wrong. Is that the case? Any tips are welcomes. I have an interest in both just trying to figure out each programs studies and methods. Thanks :)
  23. Were these books the ones that came from the syllabus? For nursing process 1 and 2? I just saw them on amazon and i am thinking of renting them Sorry I am asking I am just wanting a head start so I am not lost. LOL
  24. Thank you so much!! this helps me get a head start
