  1. I have had the same problem. I am 23 and its 1 nurse to 2 or 3 aides and they are all older than me. They tried to walk all over me till I caught them just writing down the vitals and had enough. There not there no more but anyone who skips stuff like that should not be in this field anyways. My advice talk to the DON and get it settled quick. Dont quit because of them.
  2. Where I work you got $300 sign on plus $200 extra if you stayed a year. If you dont call out any day you have to work within a year you get $1000 bonus
  3. I dont understand why some families could not be prouder of their child for going into such a great field.
  4. Just want to say good luck to you all. I just finished my RN last year. I like being a male nurse. Matter of fact im the only one in the whole nursing home but I love it. Anyway good luck again
  5. I wouldnt worry about it. I am a RN in NC and i havent had no bad reactions from people saying something like but your a guy. In all honesty we have 4 male residents who wont let a female give them a bath so males come in handy. Now pay is like this. The closer to a big city you go the more money you make out here. Good luck
  6. Hi there. I dont know where you live but in NC I got into college for free just for being a minortiy in the nursing field. I just went to the school I wanted to attend and talk to a advisor and he said i was getting in free. So I would say just try that. Good luck
