LPN Starting Salary
I work for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California and I started at $25.00. After one year I picked up Lead LVN II and now I am making over $28.00. Our wages are suppose to increase to those of our Northern California soon, that should be an increase of at least $3.00 to 4.00. Get with a good company that has been around and will be around for some time.

College network and Indinia state univerity a bunch of info..for California people
No not yet. I was told by two co-workers that they will help to pick a preceptor, or you can put in a request for someone local. It says it might take awhile to get the preceptor approved. I'm sure they are starting to work out some of the bugs in the program. It's worth looking into.

Me too! I was going to go to Mount st. Mary's (private college) but they want up to $900.00 per unit ! I have read all the information there is to read and spoke to everyone I could regarding this program, and it is a great program. Finally, our hands are untied in California

looking for places to get IV certified in so.cal.
I work for Kaiser Permanente and did it at work. You can call Member Health Education and ask them when they offer classes. I had to drive to Sunset Kaiser in LA but it was well worth it. (They take people other than employees). It was 5 days and only $150.00, as for Casa Loma (alumni 2005) it was $250.00 if you didn't attend the school and $200.00 if you graduated from there. Hope this helps, Good luck!

I've never heard of it. I was looking for other ways to study for the NCLEX-PN, didn't find any real helpful. I just stayed with the Saunders CD and it worked. I took my boards on 11/8/05 and found out yesterday that I passed. The test honestly wasn't hard. It was just intense. I tell my classmates, you do have to use your brain (imagine that...hee hee ) 6 people from my class have taken the boards just using the Saunders CD, nothing else and we have all passed on the first try. We all have had only 85 questions, so this shows that it does prepare you. I did the study first, then the tests, then the exams. You can made comprehensive exams by going to the exam part and click on all the boxes, you will get a variety of questions. Just keep doing that for a few weeks and you'll be set. Remember, God didn't bring you this far for you not to suceed. Believe in HIM and yourself. Good Luck!

Do Kaiser Hospitals Use LVN's?
I have worked at Kaiser for the past 25 years as a Medical Assistant and am ready to move to the hospital as an LVN. Because of the low 4:1 ratio, the RN's at our (South Bay/Harbor City) Kaiser voted the LVN out during the day hours. They work strictly with CNA's. You can only get a job nights/swing shift. I know....a bummer, but they are increasing the LVN's during the day shift in the clinics (due to them increasing the licensed nurses), so that's a thought...no weekends, 8:00 - 4:30pm Monday through Friday...what's not to like. Good luck with your search
