  1. I just received my acceptance letter yesterday for the September 2014 cohort and I am so excited!!!!
  2. Yes I had to take 6 prerequisite courses altogether. All the other prereqs were ok. I had no problem with any of them. It was only the stats course I that gave m3 a run for my money. The 7 week course was very intense and it took a lot of time. I did take it with another prereq class but that class was actually the easiest prereq class I had to take and still ended up with a C in the course.
  3. Hi cburton, I am currently in my last class for my RN-BSN at ULL. I enjoyed attending the programs nursing classes and it was very doable with me working a full time 40hour job. I took the statistics course and it was really hard tho. At that time it was offered in only a 7week term, now it is offered in either a 7 or 14week term. Witch I feel if I would have gotten the opportunity to take the 14week course I would have done so much better than I did. I recommend ULL!!
  4. Hi Angelmolina16 or you attending the program part-time or full-time?? Are u also working and attending the program? I have applied to Simmons for the September 2014 cohort and I am praying that I get in, I just submitted my application yesterday. I spoke with the advisor and she said all they were waiting on was 2 more transcripts. I have heard so many great things about the program so I am keeping my fingers cross hoping that I get in. Do you know how the GPA was calculated for the program? Once your application was processed and everything was received about how long did it take for you to find out that you were accepted? Congrats on getting in the program and good luck!!:)
  5. Hi nurse missy8, congrats on ur soon to be completion of the program. may I ask u want school did u go to and was it an online program or campus based?? did you enjoy the program? did the program get you prepared to practice as a NP? was the program you attended based on mostly writing papers? I'm inquiring because I am on the hunt to finding a great online program in adult/gero primary care NP
  6. Thank you for the info. Good luck in your program!!
  7. Best of luck to u in the program!! If I am able to join the program is it of ok to check in with u on how the program is going for you??
  8. Thank you for the info! Good luck in the program!!
  9. Thank you very much. I will do more research on the academic partnership FNP program.
  10. thanks for responding so promptly, are you located in Texas? I called UTA a few weeks ago and spoke with a rep and she stated the FNP online program was only available to texas nurses. Has something changed that u know of recently??
  11. Hi buggysmom, do u know if the NP programs at UTA are online programs or on campus? Are they offered to residents in different states or only texas residents?
  12. Congrats, malenurse122879 on ur acceptance to UTA. 1 question I have about the program...... Are the NP programs online and are they offered to everyone or just texas residents??
  13. Hi Tasha, i am new to the allnurses site, but I have been following and reading your threads. The excitement you show with the FNP program that you are taking has me looking into applying at Simmons for the sept 15th cohort. Can you give me n update of how your classes are going. I am applying for the part time curricula. I am currently working a full time mon-fri 9-5 job. Do u think this is doable during the first terms of the program? Are there a lot of writing assignments required in the program? I don't mind writing papers but I don't want paper writing to be the focus of the program because I don't believe that is a great way of learning for myself. Any other advise you have would be greatly appreciated. Also, congrats for being in the program. Your excitement keeps me encouraged!!!!
  14. Hi, congrats on ur completion of the program. I am interested in applying to the adult/gero NP program at UC.* any advice on the program would be really helpful.... 1. Were u able to manage a full time job attending the program online? 2. How many classes we u responsible to take full time? 3. How long does the program take to complete? 4. Did you feel you were prepared to work in the health field as a NP after completion of the program? 5. Was the entire program based on writing papers?? I dont mind writing papers but I dont want that to be the entire focus of my learning experience. 6. Any take away pointers you could give me would be greatly appreciated
