Also, one of my reasons for wanting to do nursing school in Ma, is not only because of the hospitals there but, due to the fact that I need to get away from CT in order to focus on my nursing. I live at home with my parents and I have too many responsibilities..

I live in CT, and I am currently taking A&P II and taking a Chem 2, working and volunteering so it is hard for me to attend the info session... I wish I could hop in my car and just do it. I posted this on other threads for other schools, Im going to copy it here so you can know more about me. thank you so much for your post, I am just worrying about getting accepted. I like Curry sounds really convenient and the price is great! Do you think the admission's team will not consider me as a candidate? (read below to know why im asking). I am taking two classes over to improve my grade. I have applied to Simmons and Northeastern. I am applying to Regis as well. Northeastern is my first choice but, they only have 24 spots for Direct Entry BSN/MS. That is very scary. I am freaking out because these three schools are the only ones I am interested in and I have not applied anywhere else. I am 23, I graduated in may 2014 from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelors in Business. I want to use my business degree later on and even combine it with nursing. I did study abroad in Rome. I volunteer at a local hospital in the NICU and Ambulatory since March 2014. I have been working as a caregiver for about over 5 years! I have strong personal papers about my self and strong 3 recommendation letters as well. I started doing my prereqs and I have finished most, I need AP 2 and Chem 2. I am also taking the GRE nect week for Regis, I will retake it if I do poorly... My prereq gpa is not that strong because in two classes I received a C.. I will take them over (chem and a&p) to improve my grade. In august my sister in law gave birth and she has been going thru postpartum depression. This really threw me off course because I had to be a full time mom and take care of the baby, while going to my classes (3 of them) and also working/volunteering. I was worried 24/7 about the baby because I could not leave him home alone with his mother. Thankfully she is FINALLY getting better and I could now focus on school. The baby is 5 months and healthy :) I have been dealing with health issues my self which made everything harder. I have no idea how I managed to take those classes and go through all of this. I am praying that I do not get rejected because life got in the way for me and it sucks because normally I would not have done bad!!!!! I really really want to get into Northeastern, Its really expensive but, they have the Neonatology program that I want to do. I was told by them to also take into consideration their direct entry hybrid program, which sounds convenient and also scary! Regis and Curry are also my top choices and I am praying I get into one of these.

Hi, I am applying to Curry for 2016 as well, We have some similar situations and I believe this may be the best option for me as well. Did you start the application already? I just emailed them regarding their application process and if they needed recommendation letters because I did not notice them online. I applied to Regis and Northeastern as well. Simmons too but that was a mistake, I want to receive a BSN and they do not offer that. I wished Curry started in the Fall lol I am working on everything so it could be done within the next month so I can focus on my A&P 2 and Chem course I am taking. Then, I will be done with these prereqs. It would be nice if an Alumni is willing to offer some insight? lol I live in CT, so it would be a big move for me...and my puppy.

Northeastern will let us know, early to mid february, at least that is what I have been told.

Wow, thank you for the input. That really helps and yes I agree with you it seems a bit weird. I believe since their in class program is so small they are trying to make money by having this Hybrid portion and trying to have students sign up for it. I do not have a problem with online courses but, I love the one-on-one in class learning since I graduated from a small private college I am familiar with that type of learning and it is beneficial. I really want to get into NEU because they programs are exactly what I am looking for and they do not need the GRE or so many Chem classes like other programs... I missed a few school's deadlines and that may haunt me lol I only took a Concepts of Chemistry course and many schools want Gen Chem 1 & 2 which I do not have, but, they have accepted my chem as Gen Chem 1 and all I need is Chem 2. I cannot get into Chem 2 without Chem 1. So this is the issue right now.... I am trying to solve. Did anyone use Portage Learning courses for their Prereq's? They offer a Chemistry, I am just not sure if that counts for both Chem's....waiting for a call back from them. If I get into the NEU DE in class program I would not need to take those chem's nor my GRE..

Thank you! I applied to the full time in class learning, but If I do not get accepted to that then I was told I can still do the hybrid option. Not sure if that's what I want to do lol

Hi, I also applied to Simmons. I was not aware of the change in deadline. Where did you see that? I have also applied to Northeastern and I am applying to Regis, the only thing is I did not take the GRE yet and I am trying to get a stop so I could take it this month. I hate waiting to hear back!

Thanks! I am taking A&P 1, Nutrition, and Microbiology. For Simmons I need to take organic and inorganic chemistry as well. Curry only starts in January, so I am applying for their 2016 program.

Thank you, I have been in touch with admissions through emailing only. I think I will ask them if I am doing okay for their program, should I just asked them straight up, let them know my concerns? I will also look into the other schools. I really wish I can stay in or near the Boston area and not too far away. Thanks!

I graduated with a 3.2, I hate my GPA but at the time, I was working 30-40 hours a week (sometime more) trying to help pay for school, while babysitting, caring for my family (cooking, cleaning, etc). During that time I developed depression, anemia, twice I had kidney stones and carpel tunnel which gets really painful. So I had a great deal of exhaustion, and did not take college seriously the first two years, but I managed to finish my degree on time and leave with an increase in grades! I am currently taking prerequisite course at a local community college and applying for summer/fall 2015 accelerated nursing programs. I live in Trumbull, Ct and I really want to move to Boston, Ma. So far, I am applying to UMass, Regis, Curry and MGH. I work as a caregiver for an elderly lady in a private home and I volunteer at a local hospital in the NICU and Ambulatory Care. I love the NICU and I want to be a NICU RN. I also want to get my masters in nursing. Later on, I would love to be a nurse practitioner and use my business degree in the mix. I am afraid that I will not get accepted to any of these schools. I do not want to waste anytime, and I am hoping that one of these schools will accept me. I want to start as soon as I finish these prerequisite courses in may of 2015. Besides UMass, the other schools are direct entry. I bought a TEAS practice text book to help me pass it because UMass requires it. I will definitely try my hardest to get A's in my prerequisite courses. Does anyone recommend me do anything else, or do you think I could get accepted to any of these schools? Does anyone recommend me to apply to more schools? If so, which ones? I am looking at schools in or around Boston area. Please Help!!! Thank you and Good luck to all applying this year!!!
