Accelerated BSN MCPHS- Worcester Spring 2015
I got the impression they were looking for diverse backgrounds. My overall was 3.6 and pre-req was 3.9, my undergrad being in psych/bio. I've been a volunteer EMT for a year and I'm currently working as a unit coordinator/LNA in the ICU.

That's excellent, congratulations!! Hopefully I'll meet you next year. MA would be ideal. It seems new grads are having a very difficult time finding work though, averaging 6 months before they hook anything. I'm just taking this one step at a time. Still need to pass the NCLEX Has anyone thought of a specialty they'd like to pursue?

Applying to Direct-Entry MSN Boston Programs for 2015
Wow, everyone seems to have amazing credentials. I recently received some excellent advice in regards to my career in healthcare and I've decided to get a second bachelor's in nursing and gain experience as an RN before I go for my FNP. Good luck to everyone! :)

I've also read a lot of negative posts from students that graduated from this program. Most of them related to professors' lack of aid in the student's success. That being said, you have to take into consideration that this is an accelerated program and it should be understood that the student is going to be forced to self-educate some of the concepts and theories. It should also be understood that though the didactic phase of the program is pertinent as an educational base, it's the clinical experiences that will allow success in this program and in the real world. With all the amazing hospitals and clinics in the area, I believe the school is worth the price tag. That's why I'm attending this spring :) Now that I'm saying this, watch me fail out after the first semester... On another note, does anyone have details about the scholarship awarded with this program? Is it a $6k deduction off tuition or a check from the school?

Let me know if you're accepted. I imagine you'll be hearing from them soon. It only took 8 days for them to mail out my acceptance letter.

Accelerated BSN MCPHS- Worcester Spring 2015
Just wondering if anyone out there is applying to the accelerated bachelor in nursing program at MCPHS Worcester for spring 2015. I was just on campus for an information session and will be sending out my application this week. Are there any current students out there that can explain what the program is like? Class schedule, clinicals, etc. Would you recommend this program?

Excellent! So you're planning on FNP? I was undecided for awhile between primary and acute care. What made you go with FNP?

LORs don't necessarily need to come from someone of a higher status. A reference could be from a co-worker. Really anyone who can convey your professional capabilities. It's best to pick someone who knows you well and can attest to your potential.

Applying to Direct-Entry MSN Boston Programs for 2015
Hey everyone, I just began collecting information for applications to the direct-entry programs at MGH, Northeastern, Simmons, and UMass Med. I will be applying at the end of this year for matriculation in 2015 for FNP track. I'm also interested in gauging the strength of my application, so here's a little about myself. I'm 23 years old and live in MA. I attended Plymouth State University where I received a BS in psychology. I originally thought I would go into PA but changed my decision due to PA's lack of intimacy with the patient (counseling, health education). I had a 3.57 overall GPA with a 4.0 in prereqs. I currently volunteer as an EMT with about 300 hours (6 months) under my belt. I'm also an LNA but not currently practicing (only worked for a month but decided to focus on EMT and online prereq. courses). I'm expecting to take the GREs this summer and in the process of gathering LORs. I just finished a couple of my statements of intent. My top school is MGH but I'm still waiting to attend information sessions at Simmons and UMass Med. Is anyone else applying to these schools? I'd love to hear your story...
