  1. You did the efm certification before any labor and delivery experience? How was that? How did you prepare and what resources did you use? Seems so intimidating.
  2. Did you get any certifications or joined any associations before applying?
  3. How did you get in your job as a maternity nurse with no experience? I work at a hospital where you bid for positions and it goes based on seniority so there isn't really much I can do other than apply. Just curious about how you got your foot in the door. Eventually, I am willing to change hospitals or state to get the opportunity.
  4. Hey, how's it going? I'm in NJ too and was thinking of relocating. Georgia is on my list.
  5. Any updates on how Piedmont is going?
  6. i didn't get an actual interview, just an email saying they need an essay. I had two sets of Clinicals at NYP.
  7. I got an email interviews are next month and that it starts in November, hmm.
  8. Great! Thank you for your reply.
  9. Did you get to choose a start date?
  10. did you get to choose a start date?
  11. Any tips on how to land a job? You all seemed to get one relatively fast after graduation. Any sites that helped with resume and cover letters? I graduated in January, took my nclex the end of February and I have been searching for a job, not too many calls for interviews.
  12. So you are getting into residency programs? Most places want experience before getting a job. Take the residency.
  13. How is the job search going guys?!
  14. Those were the areas I felt least prepared in and I knew that before the exam but I still did not go over it hardcore. The questions to me were sometimes vague but you could definitely narrow it down to two (as always). It's all about using your best judgement. You can't know everything and chances are, they will ask something other than what you know. They won't be too specific about anything either.
  15. Took my nclex today (2/28) at 8 am. Took me two hours to do 75 questions. Honestly I felt "blah" when I answered everything. I got a few med questions, more than a few Sata (10/15), at one point it felt like every other question was SATA. I felt like I could not remember a thing I studied but nevertheless, I answered and prayed for no more than 75 questions, no matter what. I got a lot of maternity, peds and psych questions. I didn't do the pvt trick because I heard mixed reviews about if it works or not and I didn't want to psych myself out over nothing so instead I checked the ni license verification site, before it said pending, now at 1pm it said active with a license number. I know it's preliminary so not 100% rejoicing yet but it's a good sign, i think .
  16. Congratulations!!!!! How was the exam?
  17. i stopped at QT 4, did most of the qbank on Kaplan but it just was not helping the way I wanted it to.
  18. I test on Tuesday, trying to go over as much of my incorrect uworld questions again. Ahh getting more nervous each day. The day is finally coming.
