UTA Online BSN Accelerated Program Questions
You would have to travel to the next available site...not all areas have partnered hospitals. For instance, Houston has several and some people had to travel to Lake Jackson to a clinical site if they did not get the one closest to them

UTA AP BSN program Fall 17
I do have a question for prior students though if any of them look at this thread: what is the schedule for the 15 months like? Is it a straight 15 months with no breaks (winter, summer, etc?) or are there breaks and if so what is the duration of the breaks? Thank you for any and all of your help. Well I started in September 2014. Its full 15 months, longest break is christmas. Thanksgiving break is only a few days. We had clinical the day before thanksgiving and started back up the next week. No summer break either................... its worth it....

UTA ONLINE 15 month BSNprogram spring term 2018
I went through this online 15 month program and graduated over a year ago.Like any nursing program, UTA is selective in their candidate so good grades are definitely to your advantage. My pre-req courses were mostly A's and a couple of B's. I knew people that had gotten accepted with a below 3.0 GPA. I don't know if that depends on the amount/quality of the applicants each semester. I was wait listed initially and then offered a spot in the online program a month or so after offer letters had been sent. Scoring well on HESI and working at a partnered hospital will definitely help also. If you want to increase your GPA I would focus on repeating science courses (that's if you want to; you can always chance it with c's) Best of luck.

Preparation for NCLEX
I would suggest UWORLD and Hurst Review. I also downloaded the NCLEX Mastry app on my phone and answered questions when I had extra few minutes and nothing to do..

UTA Online BSN Accelerated Program Questions
When you are extended an offer, they put all clinical sites on the form. You put in order your preference and they try to give you your first choices. Then its based on preceptor availability. Clinical are 2 days a week 10 hour days. 0630 to 1630. This program is definitely worth all the stress. I would have died going to classes for the on campus program. 15 months flew by and I felt prepared to start working. Some clinical days are spent in class learning skills you will immediately use on the unit. Its fast paced but so worth it!

UTA Online BSN Accelerated Program Questions
1. Clinicals are set. When I went through the program, my clinical days were Monday and Tuesdays 10 hours. Other clinical sites were Saturday and Sunday. It just depends on the site. You would have to make arrangements because they will not work with you in that aspect. 2. No you do not have to sign any contract 3. You meet once a week at a designated spot (usually on your clinical site in the computer lab) for tests 4. Not sure about smart hospital hours. I never used it...it may be open during school hours. Not sure

tips and tricks for difficult IV starts?
Also something that I learned and that actually works, if when you insert the IV catheter and you see it is starting to blow, release the tourniquet......if you have removed some of the catheter to get your blood, you can advance it while also flushing it. I have saved many IV's that were about to blow (or difficult to advance due to a valve) by using this method. I always check to make sure it is well placed by drawing back on the flush to get blood return.

Pharmacology and Pathophysiology from DCCCD
I don't think so.... I remember reading in another post some time ago that they were told yes but then they were told no because it wasn't equivalent. I'm sure there is some option on the UTA website where you can see if those courses are transferrable. If not, get with your advisor and ask. That would be the best option as to not get inaccurate information.

UTA AP BSN program Fall 17
Ummm, I think April is when they sent out the letters...I was initially waitlisted and then I was offered a spot in May I believe. I did not have a 4.0, I had a good hesi score and I was working at a partnered hospital. It's a great program and I'm definitely thankful I was accepted to the accelerated program because I would have died if I had to go back to the classroom. Good luck!

UTA ONLINE/ONSITE
Your chances look good. I wouldn't worry if you are wait listed, because there are a lot of applicants, but most people are applying to other programs as well so there will be declinations. I graduated last year from their online program and I was waitlisted for about a month before they called me with an open spot. I don't remember my exact numbers but I think my GPA going in was a 3.2 or 3.3, I made an 93% overall on my HESI and I was working at a partnered hospital. I only completed the 3 nursing pre-req courses and A&P 2 online at UTA. It is an excellent program and the 15 months flies by so quickly. Its a great pace because the semesters definitely do not drag by and you're hitting the floors quick. You will be extremely busy and may not have a social life, but in the end, it is definitely worth it. Good luck and you can message me with any questions!

Scrubs Seem Cut Different The Past Couple of Years
Med couture makes yoga style scrub pants. I'm smaller stature and I feel like the tops are actually pretty long. The yoga pant name is Freedom and they are super comfortable. The yoga band is super soft and the material of the pant is the stretchy soft kind that you mentioned. They are pricey but worth it.

NCLEX review advice
I did not like the ncsbn questions. I didn't like the content formatting/layout or something. I took nclex january 2016 and the materials i used helped prepare me. I used hurst review and uworld. Nclex looks same as uworld layout and the rationales from uworld really help you learn the info. Read the rationales even if you get the question right because all choices are explained as to why they are correct or not. I also had the nclex mastery app that I did practice questions on. I tried to use the saunders book but that has way too much detail in the 1000 pages. I didn't feel ready when I walked into the exam, but I took my time and read each question twice and made sure I understood what the question was asking me. I also did my best to not "add" any information to the question. Read the testing strategies in the saunders book because that really helped. I had 75 questions and about a third of those questions were SATA.

UTA AP BSN program Fall 17
I believe they look at the amount of hours you've completed at UTA; whether you work in a "partnered" hospital; your overall GPA and your science GPA; maybe if you have a previous degree (not sure on that one) and I can't think of anything else at this moment. Good luck!
