  1. Thank you all for the advice!!! And for admitting skimming is ok sometimes! And i will write that quote down too and put it on my wall. lol
  2. Today was my first day at nursing school!!! I got into a bsn program and I was very excited. But now I am so stressed out over the reading. And how on earth I am going to get it stuck in my head. Is this a common feeling? lol
  3. On youtube look up Dr. Mandy Parker! She has great great greatttt Microbiology lectures! And please read the book! I would look at her videos when I was tired of listening to my teacher's lecture. She is wonderful and funny.
  4. Yes! And the two sets of tb tests. I am still trying to get my checklist done lol.
  5. I would get started on the background test today! Thr list is time consuming. :)
  6. Congrats!!!!! :) I am so excited you got in! Join the group on fb look up jess.
  7. Where is the club at online on allnurses? Sorry if its a dumb question!
  8. It really doesn't matter they are both very similar in difficulty! So either one is good! :) Good luck!
  9. I will be looking on craigs for a room, I don't know anyone in bakersfield! :0 haha
  10. I believe in you! And good luck to everyone else! :)
  11. I feel for you we are in the same boat! I really hope I get in I will be crushed if I don't! I would love those 5 points too and the points for living in the area haha. But I still need to get accepted into the school too. They needed my spring grades in order to accept me.
  12. I emailed my grades!!!!! Now I just have to order the official ones... lol
  13. Yes if you look at their bsn program there is a lot of good info on their website I would look if you are interested!
  14. congrats! How are you guys planning on emailing your unofficial transcripts? Do you just copy the page and send it as a pdf?
  15. Good luck with anatomy! I retook it too before but I dropped it the first time with a w.
  16. Haha I hope we both get in! :)
  17. I got an 85 and for the California state university's that is a so so score. To be competitive I should have scored higher! :0
  18. It may be doable to get all A's in those classes for you but not for me! My first semester of college I took anatomy, stats, speech, and ceramics at the same time! Biggest mistake ever! I had to drop anatomy and got a B in stats! Plus psych, history, and spanish may require a lot of busy work that you can put towards lab and doing stats hw! Good luck to you! I don't know if you are shooting for all A's in the classes but I suggest that you definitely get A's in anatomy and stats and psychology since those are usually important pre-requisites! Good luck! :)
  19. Hi! First of all good luck! To ace microbiology make sure to make a lot of lists, charts, comparison tables, etc! There are always comparisons! Like lysogenic vs lytic cycle, etc; I am good at memorizing things when I write them out a lot! You may be good at that too! Or maybe flash cards? Drawings are helpful too! A lot of micro is processes of stuff. Record your lecture if you can! I would listen to this Mandy's lecture on youtube she is funny and had the same book that we had. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl6_5wIH0DqzQdJBt4_awOg Most importantly study everyday a few hours a day. Don't slack off. Don't stress out if it isn't sticking in your head. A lot of the terms are hard to understand. The class is about viruses and bacteria! It is really fun and interesting if you have a good teacher. Good luck :)
  20. Oh! BTW allaboutkitties, I emailed the person in charge and she confirmed that there are no rankings and we will find out if we get in July/August. Just to make it official haha. (even though we already knew that). :)
  21. I think you're right. I just redid it with the quarter units and it's the same. -_- I hope it's enough points how many do you estimate you have?
  22. Hi! I may be applying to the winter program if I don't get into the fall program at csub! I got an 85 on the teas. I will be retaking it if I don't get accepted to csub. My advice is to buy the ati book. Also to purchase one of their practice teas tests online. It was 40 bucks for a test that you can take twice. The questions were harder than the real test and you really get a feel of what the real exam will be like! Make sure to go over your reading and language! I got 90 percent in math and 87 in science but scored low on the reading and language because I ran out of time and because it's so hard! So I probably could have gotten a better score if I would have studied more grammar and stuff! Don't regret how you do on your test like I do! Make sure to google language usage examples and take little quizzes. Everything helps! Good luck! :)
  23. I think mine is 65.5 if I calculate the units with the ones they have posted online. At my school micro was 5 semester units but online it says 3 semester units. So my gpa is lowered because of that. I hope that is enough!!! I really want to go to csub. Is that where you want to go?
