@livingmydream Try Bethune-Cookman because their program is not competitive and fairly easy to complete. Its expensive but the teachers are nice and reliable.

They put applications into 3 categories depending upon TEAS score and GPA.

Starting my ASN program on the 25th. I am a little worried about bonding with my fellow nursing students and also about the instructors. Only thing I can do is try my best, prepare for the worst, and best the best nursing student I can be. Did okay during my prerequisites and I am glad I choose the most difficult instructors because most of it is hammered into my brain. CF know goes by a point system. They take in account your grades, community service/work hours and also you HESI score. I got accepted at Daytona State, CF and Sante Fe but turned down both Daytona State and CF because I wanted to go to Sante Fe's nursing program because it started first. Do you presently work as a medical assistnt or CNA ? If you have proof of working then you can get points added to your score. Its work a try even with two C's. I had mostly B+ in my prerequisite Science classes because I took the hardest instructors.

You have no other options? Would you consider moving to get into another program? What about CF or Daytona State? Bethune Cookman is a BSN program that is fairly easy to get into.

Everybody cheats and its not just in nursing. There are industries in Asia dedicated to cheating the USMLE, SATS and various other standardized tests. Ivy league students cheat more than people who attend state schools. This is not a good thing but should not really come as a shock. I know from personal experience that many of the people in my pre-nursing prerequisites cheated and rationalized it with the saying,''you don't really need to know all this stuff as a nurse.'' Is it ethical? Not really but it goes on and I am willing to bet lots of incidents like the one described occurs in nursing school and probably even under the direction of many instructors.

West Palm Beach and Lauderdale seem the most vibrant areas in south Florida.

I got into Daytona State College in the fall.

Good but overpriced. If you can find some way to afford the hefty price tag then go for it. There are worse for-profit nursing programs such as Taylor College. From what I understand they have Regional and NLNAC accreditation. I have seen some of the students in the program do their clinicals at Munroe Regional.

If there are any other Sante Fe College nursing students lurking here please donot be shy and post here. Just to let you all know orientation for the new class with be this Friday 7 am-12 pm in building W-24 at the Sante Fe campus.

Wow, nobody else in the Sante Fe College nursing program. Check the 2012-2013 program its on fire but this thread is dead! Should I be concerned?

Yeah, the cost of private schools is outrageous. There should be something done to regulate the cost of private nursing schools. I personally know people going into 40 K student loan debt just to get a ASN nursing degree. That is not worth it considering the first year salary.

Sarah, have you considered Bethune-Cookman University in Volusia county? It's a BSN program that often takes students that could not get into traditional nursing programs. Besides private college nursing programs, its one of the easiest programs to get into. Don't let this detour you because the staff and clinical sites are top notch.
