What was the MOST ridiculous thing a patient came to the ER for?
one of the funniest: guy who had a big roach crawl in his ear, and to make matters worse - he sprayed pesticide in there to kill it. Then his grandma told him to try to poor baby oil in his ear to kill it. Needless to say, all it did was make the roach slippery. Non-emergent one: Family brought in the grandma by ambulance because she had diarrhea in her pants and they didn't want to change her.

Question about becoming an RN
I would have to agree. Nursing is not just a job that we do. It pays pretty good - but those of us that have seen what we have, and worked as hard as a nurse does can tell you that you are NOT paid what you are worth. You MUST slow down and stop looking at this as just another title behind your name. Nursing is something that most of us believe that we are born to do. You hold a person's life in your hands every single day, and you also hold their emotions. We are saying "sounds scary" because it is so easy to overlook something and kill someone. The NCLEX is not "just a test" that you sit for - it is the culmination of years of study and hard work, and clinical experience. Maybe you should re-evaluate why you are doing this.

Question about becoming an RN
Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge has a campus in New Orleans where they have an accelerated program (9 mos) for students who have a BSN in something else. You get your ASN and become an RN, then you could do various Master's programs that allow you to "skip" getting another BSN. Go to http://www.ololcollege.edu to find out some info - or email me!

Just finished taking NCLEX...
Hey, don't worry. Priority questions are a very good sign because they are high level. This is not one of those tests that you can say "Oh, I know I got this one right or wrong." Also, 90 questions is not a lot! If you graduated nursing school, then you have the knowledge. Just let it go and trust God that His plan will happen perfectly. There is nothing you can do but wait. A word to the wise, GO DO SOMETHING! Do NOT sit in your house and wait around. That will just make you miserable. God bless you!

Have Hope, Okay? I also had 75 questions, and my format was VERY similar to yours. The fact that you had priority questions is a good sign. Those are high-level questions. The waiting is agony, believe me, I know. I just found out that I passed yesterday at 2:00 pm. Let us know when you find out!!
