Rheumatoid Arthritis
Yeah, I try to stay positive and look at all the things I've accomplished. Something else I started doing is teaching others around me to be nicer to their bones. I let them know to make sure and buy good shoes that cost a little more but feel better on you. Or tell my little sister not to carry heavy items and ask for help instead.

NCLEX coming up using Kaplan, but nervous
Personally, I wouldn't push the test date because we're never going to feel ready for the NCLEX. But if you think the extra days will help then go for it. Stay strong, you're almost there

NCLEX coming up using Kaplan, but nervous
SATA qs are tough. I used PDA: La Charity. For meds, I didn't really study them. To me there's no way I could have learned them all. So I only looked glanced at the major classifications Beta Blockers, Anti-psychotic, ARBS, PPIs, etc. Look at how they work & the most common adverse effects. On my exam, I think I had 3 and I just winged them.

I said I felt ready....
Don't let anyone bring you down. You are the only person that feels like you are ready for the Nclex. You can do it! Just keep a positive mind set.

Good popup! I have defeated the nclex demon lol

Thanks. Yes, I don't want to say anything as well but my ankle really bothers me when I do alot on it. And since I'm not taking any DMARDs I think it will give me problems during work.

Rheumatoid Arthritis
I just got diagnosed with RA in Dec. But I've always known I had a problem (different joints would give me problems) Does anyone get depressed about it? I do at times. I'll start thinking about it and start crying for no reason. I guess part of me doesn't want to be disabled at 27. How do you overcome this? No one understands my bone pain. I surely don't know how to describe it. I will start applying for jobs this week (I'm a new grad) and my question is how do I bring it up or let my unit manager know I have RA once I get a job. I don't want to look weak or let her know I want special privileges. More so, I am having a hard day today or what not. I have been taking tapering Prednisone when I have flare- ups which I have a love/hate relationship with. Prednisone suppresses your immune system so, would I not be able to take care of certain patients during treatment. Also, I haven't seen a Rheumatologist yet. I have an appointment in June that's the earliest I could get seen. Thanks guys!

Passed NCLEX
I did questions from PDA: La Charity, Saunders Comprehensive yellow book, and only did 2 Q Reviews from Hurst (I was so tired of doing questions and did not want to do anymore)

I went to the live lecture during school when I purchased it last semester. I read the book twice and then started doing questions. The week before my exam, I only looked at the my weak areas. For me it was GI and Renal.- Passed NCLEX

- Afraid of NCLEX
I would do a chapter of PDA & a chapter in another book. Read the rationales and take a break.- Passed 4th try tips and tricks and thoughts.
Congrats on being an RN. Hard work pays off!- Thoughts on Hurst Review 2014?
I just took boards (passed) and used Hurst Review. I loved it personally. It breaks down what you need to know. But now that you have your core content under control do tons of questions. Apply what you have learned :)- IT'S OFFICIAL!!!
Congrats, it's such a great feeling! Wish you the best in your practice.- Passed NCLEX
Hello everyone! I recently took my NCLEX RN exam for the first time and passed with 75 questions. I hope I did at least, according to the PVT trick. I wanted to share my experience because reading these always made me feel better. I was intimidated at first because several of my classmates took theirs right after graduation. Which is fine, to each their own. I wanted to take mine when I felt prepared. You will never feel prepared but once you start getting more questions than right on a practice test, that's a good sign. At least that's how I took it. I really didn't keep up with scores that was a headache. Materials I used: PDA, Hurst, Tons of Questions. I read my Hurst packet over and over. Then when I felt confident I did questions until I wanted to puke! I would wake up at 8am only to be up and alert. Then I had breakfast and got into study mode. So from about 10 am- 10pm I was non-stop. Of course every now and then I would take a break. But you have to keep at it. Weird thing is, I did not feel nervous leading up to the exam. But once I got to the testing center, my heart was racing. I had 75 questions 17 SATA 3 Put in Order 3 Meds 4 EKG 4 Exhibit No math Rest where Priority, Delegation When I came across a question I did not understand, I closed my eyes took a deep breath and re-read the question. The test is not hard. I was waiting for the difficult questions and actually felt horrible that I didn't seem scared. I know some people have mentioned where they had no idea what NCLEX was asking. But in my opinion its basic nursing. If you completely have no idea of the answer then ask yourself: what would a safe nurse do if I could only do one thing for this patient Also, have faith in yourself. I wrote my name,RN,BSN and hung it in my room to remind myself every morning of who I was. Pray if you believe in a higher power, I did. The morning of my exam I did a few questions to get into study mode. Had lunch and drove to the testing center 1 hour early and they were nice enough to let me in. I just wanted to get the test over with. Good luck everyone! Study hard it will pay off :) - Passed NCLEX
