  1. I haven't heard either
  2. Glad it all worked out in the end! Thanks for the update
  3. Thanks everyone for your answers! What setting do you work in?
  4. What type of nursing do you practice?
  5. Thanks for the response Can you give me examples of the types of mathematical equations you have to do in a daily basis?
  6. Sooo basically math isn't my strong point at all.... Especially when I'm nervous and under a lot of pressure I'm a good critical thinker and good at science. I'm also cheerful and can really connect with people. But math has always made me miserable.... It doesn't hinder me ever because I have a calculator when I need one; but I keep reading about how nurses have to do complex mathematical equations to calculate medicine doses I got into an entry nursing masters program and don't knownif I should accept the admission because if this!!! Please advise!
  7. Wow what did the administrator ask you to do?
  8. I think the op is just afraid that these programs pump out nurses with doctoral degrees and they're really not ready (don't have the clinical knowledge ) to practice medicine on their own She's also afraid that come a few years, people will no longer trust np's because too many of them will be out in the field without proper training, giving EVERY apn a bad name.
  9. Personally, I don't mind being called "hon" or "honey" It's actually probably something that would make me comfortable around the person
  10. I really don't know anything about this, but I certainly don't think it can hurt to try again! Especially if you let HR know what happened last time...
  11. Just got into a nursing masters program Gpa= 3.38 Sciences= 3.66 My school seems to take a "holistic" approach when reviewing applicants... They look at previous healthcare experiences, the personal statements, they see if a students gpa went progressively upwards etc...
  12. I hear what you're saying, but with Obamacare Rollin in there will actually be a demand for primary care practitioners.... That's where nurses will be in demand
  13. Awesome! Just joined! Don't know why it wouldn't come up in the search.... but this link worked!
  14. well technically they're working in the field and immersing themselves in nursing 40 hours/week so really they're spending more time than one class per semester learning and putting the foundations of their knowledge into practice I hear your point though
