  1. Please tell me that you are in the traditional program and not the advanced standing track!! I am supposed to start the transition track in August.
  2. Ok, I am really nervous because I have a lot on my plate...a full-time job and son tat will be 2 in September. This is definitely going to require some discipline on my part!
  3. Do you currently work?
  4. Well, i wasn't able to get into seminole state n the spring; however, everything happens for a reason. Work is slowing down and won't be nearly as demanding and i am starting Valencia's AVS in the fall. Let the insanity begin!!
  5. Do not forget in the state of Florida that nurses are professionally mandated reporters and must report abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children and vulnerable adults. I would not ever hesitate to call the abuse hotline in any circumstance where abuse/neglect is present. 800-96-ABUSE
  6. Hi Victoria, Yes, I am also starting in August. And just in case there is anyone out there who doesn't have insurance or has a high deductable plan like I do, you can get the MMR and hep B titer done at the health dept for like $80.
  7. What's really frustrating is that i do meet all of the requirements. I have been an assisted living director and manager of a private duty agency for the last 7 years....grrrrr! I am going to go to the college tomorrow to see if I can at least speak to someone who can tell me what exactly it is they're looking for. I already had a physician that i work closely with email them about my work experience and competency. Thanks for letting me vent....i just have to keep reminding myself what's meant to be will be. I will let you know how it turns out.
  8. Thank you for the insight. I am so frustrated. They said at the info session that priority is given to those who finished pre reqs first with a high gpa. Well.....apparently not...sheesh.
  9. Congrats to all of you who were accepted. I am really curious to know if everyone that was accepted finished their pre reqs by spring of 2010. Im trying to figure out if i was put on the alternate list because of work experience, teas score, or if there was that many people who finished pre reqs before me. They college is not responding to my questions :-/
  10. RNbygrace if you dont mind me asking when did you finish pre reqs and how was your teas score?
  11. I got my email today i am an alternate. I am quite surprised, i finished my pre reqs in 2010, had a 3.86 gpa, and scored an 83.3 on the TEAS. They said I needed to clarify my work experoence, i guess because i have been in management for the last 6 years. Im bummed! Hope i can get a spot anyway, maybe somebody will back out.
