Hi! I suggest that you check out this link, finding a good instructor is also very important. Here you will be able to look teachers in that subject & see how your peers have rated them. I think this is an absolute NO-NO! (Let me first state the I am not "offended" by it because I "served" many tables when I was younger & there is nothing wrong with that) However, some of these people come in & already act like they are at the Hilton & should be waited on hand & foot...WHY encourage it, nurses are busy enough??? If they are going to pass out cards like this, they should staff twice as many nurses since you will be catering to the patient/family's EVERY need! I am still a student, but unfortunately, I have witnessed this very behavior with my own family members while they have have been hospitalized:rolleyes: ...I was sooo embarrassed that I wanted to hide under the nearest table!

Being a Tampa (FL) resident, I just want to send my blessings to all of those that are in the path of this storm. We had several "close calls" last year with some of the storms and it was terrible. I cannot imagine what these people are going through right now, nor do I want to. All I can say to those in her path is ~Please know that someone in Florida is sending lots of prayers and (((HUGS))) your way!!!~

Hi! This is a decision that I too am faced with. I am 30 y/o taking prereqs. Like some of the others, it is a little more urgent for me because I suffer from unexplained multiple miscarriages, and my chances of having a baby are getting more & more slim each time. Although I am determined to get into nursing school and complete it, I am even more determined to be a mommy! We have one more option of trying to have a child naturally and we will be trying that later this year. If this attempt is successful, the baby would be born just before nursing school starts. I know that it will VERY difficult, but it is a challenge that I am will to accept. If for some reason I find that I cannot handle it, school will just have to wait for a little while. Hopefully with a great support system and determination, I will be able to successfully achieve both without putting anything off! Everyone's situation & input will vary, this is just what is on top of our priority list given our ages & individual situation. As another poster mentioned, the time is never perfect, you just have to choose which is more important to you at this point in your life...Good luck in whatever you decide!! :kiss

I don't know what part of Florida you are in, but if you are near Tampa, Erwin Technical Center is a good school. They did have a long waiting list, but I believe they are now doing a lottery-type selection. A good friend of mine went there, and had NO problem finding a job upon graduation. good luck...
