  1. Hi- what are pros and cons of the FNP programs at those schools: Georgetown, UC, Graceland, South? TIA
  2. Hi- would love to speak with someone abt the FNP program there! keepitreal111 at gmail dot com thanks!
  3. Haha reminds me in HS when we were tired would just go lay down on bed in infirmary (was a separate room with two beds), no nurse, just had to tell front desk. Good thing it was a guarded school secret.
  4. Hi, I am interested - plz end info thanks!
  5. bec it can be horrible in some places. esp facilities that just care abt the money and not abt the staff or the pts. Where there is never enough resources, supplies, and it is greatly understaffed, disorganized and a non positive environment. Also such facilities majority of the staff has been there so long they dont even realize they are not following protocol and procedure and could not care less if it is pointed out to them. HOWEVER, you will always find a gem working there who is so nice and works super hard and unfortunately us usually taken advantage of.
  6. I always feel uncomfortable trying to switch pts, like I am being lazy or uncooperative, so I just suck it up and do the best I can.
  7. I am the opp- I am a very sensitive person and I have to try really hard not to let it get to me. I go out of my way to help the pt, provide the best care I can, and I dont even expect a thank you - just please dont yell at me, make perverse comments, belittle me, or or go behind my back to the supervisor/other employees and say obnoxious things about me, or go out of your way to make it more difficult for me. Unfortunately, the culture of the community I work with is all about "me, everything, now".
  8. It looks like you are doing great- first step you did post here about your shyness. Just apply and see what happens- dont wait. Good luck
  9. Balt hospitals starting is $24/hr plus shift diff nights and wkends. Bayview Hopkins is even less $23/hr (Hopkins pays less bec you get the name). LTC is usually more- $27/hr plus SD. Homecare more like $30/hr. Hope this helps. Overtime and PTO/sick days etc also make a diff
  10. Anyone work as an FNP in Balt? Was wondering if you can answer the Qs from OP and include job satisfaction- THANKS!
