What can you tell me about meding coding and the HIM field
Also would you recommend that I try to get degrees in both nursing and him? Clinical improvement specialist sounds like something I would be interested in. I hope the pay gets much better after the entry level positions.

What can you tell me about meding coding and the HIM field
The strange thing is I've seen job listing for much higher wages after 5-4 years of experience. Idk this is so confusing.

Yeah I can't blame you. That is barely above minimum wage. Sigh

What can you tell me about meding coding and the HIM field
Wow I can't tell you how much I appreciate this reply. Are you telling me that even after I get a AAS and become a RHIT I would start off at 12 per hour and have a hard time getting a job. That is a little depressing. And after 4-5 years and rhia I could potentially make 45-60k? Thank you for your time.

I'm not sure if I'm in the right place to ask them question but here it goes. What can you guys tells about being a RHIA or RHIT. Is the pay good (60k)? Is there a demand in this field. What traits do you need to be successful in this career. Is there a lot of interaction with other people. I have gotten some good responses on this website so that is why I am asking because I know it isn't a direct nursing question.

Is a working at a clinic or outpatient setting helpful to your career
Thanks for the response! Can I ask how you got that job?

Or it is better to work at a hospital or nursing home or something. My question is if I am curious to later get my RN and go into case management or something. Will my experience there be helpful?

Do you ever feel like a social worker?
She can at least show some empathy and get a case manager or social worker involved. Maybe she could even find a solution.

RN new grad let go within 90 days and searching for new job, advice?
I just wanted to give a virtual hug. I don't have any advice specifically but I've heard of this before for other professions as well. If you are struggling in the beginning (which is understandable) the employers won't communicate with you but just after a period of time they will just fire you. Sounds kind of unfair to me

Has anyone ever look down on you because you are a nurse
To me a school nurse sounds like a lovely job. I love kids.

Has anyone ever look down on you because you are a nurse
So many people are going into nursing I think the perception is changing and will change even more. At least that is what I am hoping.
-
Do you have to do bedside nursing
I'm sure your experience would help you in getting a job. Personally I would love if I could take that route but that's just me.

Has anyone ever look down on you because you are a nurse
I'm talking about doctors or maybe even friends or family. My uncle once said with a disgusted look on his face e don't do nursing they have to give bath and stuff. My friend's boyfriend once said the work is demeaning since all they do is wipe butts. Hearing these stories are really sad. They are misinformed and very cruel. All of us will one day be in a situation where we might need help in that type of way.

How much "dirty work" have you encountered in nursing school
I want to hear your stories how much have you seen in nursing schools. For a lot of you this was probably your first time experience so tell me what was going through your head. What made it less awkward and more comfortable for your patients

Why is LTC Nursing have a bad reputation
Is this a stressful division of nursing? I read a thread that staying too long in LTC is bad for your resume which I thought was confusing. Seriously what is the deal? Do you situations you encounter are life and death. Is there a lot of dirty work which is turning people off?
