KAPLAN works!!
I hope you're right! I did Kaplan and abou a week before my NCLEX I discovered Uworld. I did the demo and felt that it was way better than Kaplan but I didn't want to invest the money since I would only have a week to use it and was already so deep into the Kaplan test prep plan. I did all qbank questions and averaged about 65%, got a 74% on the readiness and 64% on question trainer 7. My NCLEX shut off at 75. I initially thought this was a great sign. I got a lot of SATA. But I still haven't gotten results and I'm reading posts about people who failed with 75 questions so now I'm freaking out.

New Grad: How can I get experience if nobody will give me a chance?
I'm also a new grad looking for my first job. I graduated with a MSN from a top school, have almost a 4.0, amazing letters of recommendation from clinical faculty, many years of research experience, clinical experiences from a highly ranked teaching hospital, a polished resume approved by my university's career experts, extensive global and community volunteer experiences, and was the recipient of a couple prestigious awards and I have been offered 1 interview since May and didn't get the job. I have been rejected by almost all of the hospitals I have applied to without an offer for an interview! It's still early for me and I'm hopeful but I completely understand your frustration and I'm just telling you my story to let you know you're not alone. I did everything in my power to set myself apart from other candidates. At this point it's in God's hands. Best of luck to you.

Passed NCLEX RN July 2016
Congratulations! For those who left rude or negative comments on your post they obviously need to work on their cultural sensitivity if they are going to be good nurses. You, however, responded with impressive class. I'm sure you are going to make and amazing nurse.

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
I received my acceptance email this morning. I was #13 for those still waitlisted. Good Luck to all of you!

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
@peppymint, your comment made me nervous. I kind of expected more people to decline by Friday! I guess I have to sweat it out a bit longer. I know there are people who accepted that only did so to hold their spot so they would have more time to decide, but it still is nerve-wracking!

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
Last year the accepted #30 on the wait list. This year I think it will be more because of the delay in notifying people so hang in there. Good luck.

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
My status online has not changed. However, my email said they have completed the review process. I suppose that does not mean that they have sent out all acceptances yet but the decisions are made. Hope this helps.

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
I received an email that I am lucky number 13 on the waitlist! I guess I need to sweat it out a little while longer. Happy to finally know something though. Good luck to the rest of you and from a selfish standpoint, I hope UCLA's delay is good news for me and that at least 13 will commit somewhere else. I have read of a couple on this blog already that will decline.

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
I haven't given up hope yet but am already preparing myself for the worst. I am a bit older. I got married at 18 and had a child at 19. I graduated from UCLA but my choice to not complete my education before having a family put me way behind my classmates. I now have 2 kids and 3 stepkids. 3 of them are college age and one a HS senior and one in 5th grade. So far none of them have chosen college. The GPA I applied with was about a 3.0. Nothing I can do can change this. However, I work 2 jobs and have kids and took Stats, Microbio, and Physiology this last year evenings and earned all A's. I have done research for 12 years and made the switch to clinical research to gain clinical experience about a year ago. I also have 3 amazing (and I do mean amazing) references and have done enough community and global volunteer work to make your head spin (not for points on an app but because that's what I love). The hardest part to me facing being rejected is letting my kids down. You see I wanted them to see by my example that hard work and perseverance pay off. The competition for jobs and even to go to college is so tough these days and I wanted to prove to them if you try hard enough, work hard enough, have your heart in the right place anything can happen. That's what kills me is that they may see me being rejected after all they have witnessed me go through in the last year and feel like why should they try? I won't give up. I can't give up because I have an audience of 5 who really look up to me. If I accept defeat I fail them. Just trying to hang on and hoping if I am rejected that I have the energy and motivation to start over taking the GRE and having to retake many classes I have already taken because they require them to be more recent to apply to other programs. I need a glass of wine! lol

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
and FYI, you guys are stressing me out with this whole last name thing, LOL!!!!! I would guess notifications are being made by ranking (although it is weird with all the "s's"). UCLA knows they are late and that their first picks will potentially commit to other programs so that just makes the most sense to me.

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
Yes! Cograts to all who've been accepted. I am sure you will make amazing nurses as I know UCLA only takes the cream of the crop! You should be proud. I feel so discouraged though. Nobody has received rejections only acceptances. Since I have not heard I am naturally assuming I am in the first group. Either way, whatever is meant to be will be. I did not apply to any other program. I am waiting on this decision to figure out what's next. I am happy I will have some clarity soon.

No decision for me either. I am curious as well if anyone received a rejection?

UCLA MECN Fall 2014?
The program is very intense and you have 18 units per quarter. Working seems out of the question but it's kind of like your parents telling you what not to do, you have to do it anyway and later find out they were right.

April Fool's! No acceptance letter, just messing with you guys. I didn't have the heart to wait until tomorrow to let you know I was joking. Lol.
