  1. @mariebailey perhaps ixchel meant "when [commas] are overused!!!!!]. There's only one apostrophe in the example but four commas.
  2. and its' is the plural of its (I think)
  3. how about "herr-ron" for heroin?
  4. I'm just curious as to why your ex, the child's father, would ask you, the child's mother, to "confer" with his new girlfriend on the health/medical care of said child? Nurse or not, it's really none of her business unless she is part of the child's health care team.
  5. @ onthemark Thank you for posting this issue and your response to it. I found it extremely helpful. Personally I probably would NOT have responded so calmly in the private meeting with the PT. She definitely over stepped boundaries.
  6. Thanks for a proper wording lesson. I'm a CCMA who works in geriatrics (1 year) and some of the things the elderly come up with to talk about or ask your opinion on can indeed give one pause.
  7. My dear I absolutely love your response! I would appreciate your permission to use this at the proper time.
  8. Thank you all for your helpful comments, insights, and tips. I will take all into consideration on my journey.
  9. No, this person is not a Medical Assistant. They work as a Care Giver. When I asked about professional credentials I was told their "knowledge comes from work experience." We provide non-medical assistance for seniors in the home.
  10. I'm new to healthcare. I'm not a nurse, I'm a Clinical Medical Assistant and I love to learn. What I need/want to learn is how to professionally deal with a co-worker who "knows it all" because they've been in the field longer than you. A lot of the things this person says are inaccurate, have poor documentation skills, and is very opinionated just for starters.
  11. My personal favorite is "alltimers" or "oldtimers" (for alzheimer's)
  12. I am a new Medical Assistant. This is invaluable information for me starting out in my healthcare career. I always want to be accurate and clear in charting information. Thank you!
  13. Great advice. I took a job as a CareGiver to get much needed experience until I land that "dream job".
  14. I'm a new Medical Assistant studying for my certification exam (CCMA). I plan on moving to Tampa in the near future. This information is helpful to me. Thanks
