  1. Do any current students know what is the point of reading these two books? 1. Reading: Fadiman, A. 1998. The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. Farrar, Straus and Giroux: New York. ISBN: 0-3745-2564-1 2. Reading: Craig, Gloria P. Clinical Calculations Made Easy, Fifth Edition. ISBN/ISSN: 9781608317905. Chapters 1-3. (This reading must be completed prior to beginning summer courses.) The ETP Accepted Students page is up and I am just wondering about that. How do we purchase Typhon?
  2. I thought we would pick up them during orientation, but now I forgot... It would make more sense to me to pick them up though
  3. Good to know that it gets a little cheaper. Does anyone know how likely it is for us to get the health insurance waived? I would rather save those few thousands of dollars...
  4. I want to cry after seeing how much unmet need I still have enough with the scholarship Any suggestions on loans and stuff? I can at least save $4000 by not buying the health insurance...
  5. Nope, I don't know much about it. I just heard that the hospital is a good one. I can't go to the open house because I'm from California and that is way too short notice.
  6. Congrats! Hope we hear good things from Yale...
  7. Did you get into MGHIHP? I'm just wondering because I heard today
  8. Got an email about Yale's information session for the GEPN program. There's one on 3/11 and another on 3/20. Pretty terrible timing for me because I booked my tickets to go to New York to visit Columbia on 3/11-14 but I won't be able to make it to Yale's information session in time on 3/11 :/ Hope someone can go though!
  9. I also got into Columbia and Vanderbilt but I declined Vanderbilt. I'm not too sure about Columbia vs Yale if I got into Yale. I'll have to reflect more on this. Unfortunately, I could not make it to the interview on campus so I had a phone interview. I suppose I missed out on the experience...
  10. When are we supposed to find out about the decisions? Is it the end of this month?
  11. Last night I booked my tickets to go to the visiting day :)
  12. Sorry to hear that The deposit deadline is March 23rd.
  13. Yay we're the same specialty and I am also from the bay area! I should probably look at tickets soon... I assume business clothing etc would be appropriate, but I hope someone here who is in the program can give more information.
  14. I asked him if Atlanta is racist against Asians, and he says "Not super [racist]. Just topical at times" Not sure what that means. I'm from California too and have only lived in a predominantly Asian environment my entire life so I have no idea what racism is actually like
  15. Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww That debt later on...
  16. Might as well post my stats. I got in for Pediatrics Undergrad GPA: 3.6 Pre-req: 3.8 GRE: Verbal 155, Quant 164, Writing 5.0 LoR: Physiology lab TA with the professor co-signing it, Professor from a pharm sci course, and my supervisor from my volunteering experiences in Taiwan (who also speaks English) Experiences: Joined a club on campus where we went on clinic trips to Mexico every month, volunteered with special needs children at a occupational therapy-based karate dojo, went to Taiwan to volunteer at a hospital and did a bunch of stuff, mostly with nurses and going into the countryside. Those experiences didn't actually last for more than a year so I'm surprised I got accepted xD So happy though
  17. I know an Asian guy living in Georgia. I can ask him about racism if you want. Are you going to visit Emory's campus soon?
  18. I got in for Pediatric Primary Care! Congrats to the others who were accepted!
  19. Hope we can hear tomorrow...
  20. Yeah, I think that part is a little off-putting. Yale's program is the same way Well, I still have until June or so to decide on Case Western
  21. Hope Columbia works out for me (also Yale...) because I got rejected from UPenn I'll do my best to not worry over this...
  22. Hahaha, I'm not in! Farewell everyone!
  23. I applied to FNP but have not heard anything. Huh..
  24. Aww, sorry to hear that! I would choose Emory over Case Western anyway even if the ranking is a bit better for the latter. I doubt rankings should matter that much though
  25. I got that too! So nervous!!!!!
