  6. So you can do the trick right after you finish taking the test? I take it Friday and I know it'll drive me crazy to have to wait two business days to be able to buy the early results or look on the BON website.
  7. My boyfriend of four years works for a company where he will be required to move around every 1-2 years for at least 3-5 years, maybe longer before we can come back to our home state. He hasn't had to move yet but my biggest concern is will it be harmful to my career to have to change jobs every 1-2 yrs? Will this look bad on me or hinder my own dreams and goals? I will be graduating in December and would like to work for a couple of years and then go back to school for my masters with an eventual goal of getting my doctorate. I'm not totally sure exactly what I want to do with that doctorate as of now but I know that's my end goal. Short term I'd like to work to gain enough experience to either work in a CCU or OB unit. I want to go with him, I'm just concerned I'll be compromising my own goals while trying to live my life around his goals. Any advice or help would be appreciated.
  8. So I'm possibly moving to to the Atlanta area next year. I'm currently a nursing student and I graduate in December so I will be a new grad when I move. I was looking for some advice about the best area to live in and the best area for a new grad to be in. I was also wondering what the nursing market was like down there. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  9. So I feel like this may be a stupid question, but I've heard rumor through my school that you can take the NCLEX before graduation as long as you've completed 4/5 semesters in TN. I am about to finish up my fourth semester and if this is an option I'd love to go ahead and give it a shot this summer. I've done some research online and can't seem to find anything definitive. I am in a BSN program if that helps. Thank you in advance!
  10. Hello, I am a fourth semester BSN student and we are learning how to read ECGs in critical care. I get the basic gist of things and have been given examples of the dysrhythmias we are learning about, but then I look at our homework packet and in half of the strips I can't even tell which wave is what because they are so wonky looking. If anyone has any tips/tricks/secrets/websites that help I would love to hear about them. I could use all the help I can get!! Thank you in advance!

  12. Has anyone ever used Picmonic? Did you find it helpful? I did the free trial thing but I'm still torn as to whether or not I want to subscribe. I'm a second semester nursing student in a BSN program so we're taking pharm, research, and intro to nursing practice. Seems like it MIGHT be useful, but I'm still reluctant to spend money on it (you guys know how the whole college budget thing goes). So if you've ever used it before I would love to know if you thought it was worth the money. Thanks!
  13. I started the nursing program this fall, so I remember the nervousness quite well! Just be confident and research and practice potential interview questions. You can find some scattered around the internet..I can't really remember what they asked me, that's how nervous I was lol but I do remember them asking about my greatest weakness, what i think a nurse is, my greatest achievement. Things like that. Somehow I managed a 3.9 on my interview. I still don't know how that happened! Good luck!
  14. Hello! This is my first semester in the MTSU SON and we are required to buy stethoscopes next semester and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good one. I don't mind spending a little bit of money on it as long as it's quality. I've seen electronic ones online, some of them that even record heart beats, but does anyone use one? My budget is around 400 dollars. Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the advice!! Has anyone gotten a call for their interview yet?
  16. I'm not sure if they require you to take pre-reqs in a certain order. My very first semester I tried to push statistics until the next semester because it had been a few years since I'd been in school but my advisor told me I HAD to take it my first semester. I met another girl that is pre-nursing and she took stats her second semester so idk about that one, I'd call your advisor and ask.
  17. Hello all! I am a sophomore at MTSU and I just applied for their nursing program. I have a 3.9 GPA (All A's up until last semester when I was ONE point away from an A in English!) I have an A in A&P 1 and I am currently enrolled in A&P2. (I'll take Micro in the summer if I get in) and I made an 84 on the HESI (I would've liked a better score but I struggled with some stuff in the A&P section because I hadn't taken A&P2 yet I had to teach myself a lot of things)but I was wondering if anyone here had any tips about the interview. They haven't started setting up interviews yet but I want to be fully prepared. For any current MTSU nursing students/alumni I would really appreciate it if you could give me an idea of what kind of questions they might ask. Also I'd love to know more about what I need to do before I start the actual program (If I'm accepted) such as the nursing physical, drug testing, TB test, Flu shot. I'm just trying to get a plan together for when and where I get all of these tests done before I start the nursing program! Also when do you start clinicals? Is it immediately when you start the program or a semester or two after you get accepted? Also do you think I stand a chance at getting in? I know that I can get the 10 panel drug test in health services, I've been prescribed adderall for ADHD since I was a kid, will it count against me as amphetamines even though I have a legitimate prescription? Thanks!
  18. I applied for the fall semester, just waiting to get an interview scheduled! I have a 3.9 GPA and made an 84 on the HESI.. Not exactly the score I was looking for but I kinda found out last minute from my advisor I qualify to apply for the fall semester. and I hadn't taken A&P2 yet so I taught myself most of the material from A&P 2. If I get accepted I have to take Microbiology in the fall (I'm in A&P2 now) Good luck to you!
