  1. The investigation has ended. We proved that we did not act in any way racist. We proved our innocence. But our legal fees are still there. I'm paying them as I can. It's a shame I was accused of something I didn't do. It cost me thousands of dollars to prove my innocence, because someone is allowed to lie, and nothing happens to that person! In fact, she's getting a clinical ladder promotion.
  2. I've been a nurse for 30 years. For the last 23 years I've been in the OR. It was a dream of mine when I was in nursing school. I have loved it all these years until recently. The environment has become so toxic. I think it's time to move on, but I don't know where I could possibly go from here. I definitely don't want to do floor nursing. Has anyone left the OR for another specialty? Is the change difficult? I'll take any advice! Thanks!
  3. No, there were no jokes whatsoever!
  4. Nurse Beth, I appreciate your response!! I'm meeting with HR! I have several co-workers that are willing to talk to the investigator on my behalf. If she if found to have lied, or not have enough evidence, myself and the other nurse will be ready to sue for defamation. I have been a nurse for 30 years and have never had anyone ever accuse me of such nonsense! If fact, my Black friends and doctor friends have offered to help in any way they can!
  5. Do I roll my eyes? Yes! At a lot of people. Subconsciously. We don't lift anything heavier than an instrument pan that only one person can lift. Did I stare at her? She was standing in the hallway in the direction I was walking. No I was not staring at her. But, let me just say, rolling my eyes, staring at someone doesn't constitute racism either! She's grasping at straws in retaliation for us going to management for her poor performance.
  6. Accused of 'not helping lift heaving things', but helps non black people, rolling their eyes at her, but not at non black people. Staring at her, but not at non black people. Interfering with letting her go to break, but didn't do that with non black people.
  7. 2 nurses are being accused of racism. A formal complaint and investigation is underway but the accusations are absolutely false! What would you advise?
  8. UGH! my worst nightmare! I'm in a bad group! they seem to lack motivation and don't answer messages! How do I fix this? I want a good grade, and most of all, I want to pass!! the professor seems to be very difficult in grading, unlike in other classes. very different!
  9. well, I am literally starting my BSN Capstone today. I'm very nervous! More nervous than I've ever been about any of the other courses or exams. Is the work load more or equal to the other classes. I just finished 3 classes last semester, Health Assessment, Teaching & Learning, and Prof Transitions. It was ALOT of work, but wanted to get those done so I could take Capstone. I'm also taking my last elective, World Religions. Any words of encouragement? Thanks!
