The instructors told us during the 2pm orientation that we should bring paper, recorder, and a pen/pencil.

I have to say this orientation, for me, went better and was more useful. I also just checked blackboard, and my instructors are starting to upload stuff. So I would totally check it out because some have the schedule for the course posted and could be used to get a head start on.

That is good to hear! And yes it has just flown by. I still have to get my books and tote. I have to wait until the book voucher is put on because I don't have the funds else wise. But hopefully that will be pretty soon. Yeah I am going to it as well. I am not sure if it will be the morning or afternoon one though. I do find it interesting that it is only being held at Metro this time. As for being ready, I don't know if I could answer that. lol

Well we are all down to the wire. 2 weeks from Monday we will be starting. How is everybody doing on getting stuff ready? Anybody going to the additional orientation next week?

I am right here with you all. I start next month and I am excited to get started but nervous as well. The major test for me is making sure I am well organized and creating a good study plan.

That's what I figured. I was just making sure they really didn't require us to be in like a dress shirt or polo at all times.

Associate had it right. I didn't read it fully just yet but I will be sure to at least start planning within the next week or so. I was reading through the handbook on the uniform because I have to get ready to go grab my stuff within the 2 weeks. So I never noticed but we have to dress business casual in lab and class? It says jeans are allowed but have to be neat. I just don't remember them saying it had to be business casual, just look neat and presentable.

I knew I should have expanded on that. They posted that we need to be ready with our math and some stuff I have looked up on my own. A lot of articles and past nursing students have mentioned that getting ahead on your reading will help tons. So it was just personal interest readings that I came up with that.

Im out in Lorain County and I know the hospitals around me do both. Either you are a Patient Care Assistance or Certified Nursing Assistant. I am curious about the option to take the test as well though. I see that there is a form that Tri-C can sign to give your permission to test once the basic patient care and disease prevention classes are completed. If I am correct, this would make you eligible after the first semester right?

Anybody else know when the book funds will became available? I know they changed the last few semesters to a week prior but with everything I am showing, it seems like we really should have our books at least a few weeks prior to starting. Anybody else have an opinion on this?

I haven't gotten the chance to work on it just yet. Hopefully I'll have it finished on my end asap.

Awesome! That was originally my first choice but since I work as well I had to choose a weekend. I went with Hillcrest.

It went well for me. I'm waiting for registration as I am in the night program. The semester is already getting so close!!

So for those that had their orientation already, how did it go?

I updated my last post. One of the announcements said May 28th. Mornings open at 6am and evenings at 2pm.

Awesome! I just got my email shortly after you. My orientation is on the 22nd. Were you added to the group site? I was looking through the paperwork and announcements. It appears as of last month the planned on date for new students to register is May 28th.

I got one a few days ago stating that it would be between May 20th-22nd or June 3rd-5th. Did yours have an actual set date?

Its going well over here! Sounds like you are dang close to having it all completed! I have to go in on the 2nd for my 2nd tb, 2nd hep, and 2nd mmr. Everything else I should be good to go on. Then come August, Eastern Nights/Weekends program here!

I don't fully understand it, trust me. All I know is that was what the Nurse Practitioner advised me of.

I ended up using both my Dr. for my Varicella titer and a MinuteClinic for the rest. A word of advise that I learned while doing these, you cannot have any other immunization for a month after getting a TB done. So if you need others to get along with a TB, make sure you get them all on the same day.

Understood! At this time I have nothing completed because I literally got my acceptance yesterday morning. I'm going to reach out and make plans to get this all done immediately.

Thanks! I just got in as there was only Eastern Nights left but as I preferred the evening program it all worked out. So we have about a month and a half to get it all done. Can you say crunch time!! Lol

I am actually glad you asked that. I was officially accepted today and the email said that everything has to be finished by the orientation. It then stated that we will get the invite to the orientation come April. Does this actually mean the orientation is in April or later in the year since we don't start until August and having to do all of the requirements in a month will be a bit of a stretch. And I agree on that amount being high. Some of the shots and the physical costs some too.
