  1. Hi...get that rn first....you may like nursing....but not necessarily want to ever be a manager...or a teacher...you may later want to do to other things.....and if you want you bsn...there are an abundance of rn to bsn programs for you to chose.........good luck......
  2. certainly with the nursing shortage...you can get a loan or hospital to sponsor you...isuggest applying to several lpn programs...test those waters...then you can easily get into a transistional program, and even work a little and bring in some cash, and get experience, to boot, or just go straight into transitional...isuggest you take a few days...and just be quiet with yourself and do some self housecleaning....what is holding you back....is it fear....do you feel you don't deserve it....or are you really meant to do something else....the world is your oyster...and you are worth the pearl waitng for you.....just relax, take a break...pray, contemplate...and you will find it.....best of luck.......
  3. tampa is very expensive....summers are hot in florida, i havelived here most of my life and am leaving, and then it rains all summer long, and all the hurricane threats. i think north carolina is great. my daughter lives there, and my other daughter plans to move there too after she finishes nursing school.
  4. just want to say....go for it, your age is perfect, and you will find plenty of people your age in class.
  5. you are definately not to old... go for it......
  6. i tried it, listened to their lies, they are a very dirty hospital, and their pt's get very poor care, i was shocked at how little septic technique they use, if you want to go to gainsville, try north florida regional, the pay is a little less, but it is very clean and nice.
  7. hi, i graduated the program in 1998, after first doing my lpn at mercy, so i went to the transistional program. i had a vry good experience, and now am finially finishing my bsn. mdcc is a good school with a high nclex pass rate. hang in there, it will be fine. the clinical rotations i did were, doctor's hospital, miami childrens, jackson and cedars.good luck,my daughter is in the generic program now and really ikes it.
  8. most people i know are leaving. it is just to hot and fast paced. i am moving to n.c, my daughter lives there with her husband, and his family and they are very happy there. i find it prettier, and friendlier there. tired of florida!
  9. i agree, i have here in miami more than 30 years, and i am ready to go, not because of the latin community, but because it is just to fast paced, and the price of homes has skyrocketed in the last few years. as far as my latin friends, they are mostly wonderful workers, and as pts. i really get tired of the hear, hurricanes, and the pay is not that great. if you would like to try miami, i would suggest you trying a travel contract for about 13 weeks, then you can decide if it's the place for you, and also if you can afford it. brickell is very expensive. best of luck, and hope you make the right decision, i am doing what the other writer is doing, planning on moving to north carolina, it has a mild climate, and is more affordable.
