  1. Thanks Tonight i felt that feeling again which got me here in the first place as a cna. I am bilingual and when I am able to translate for people I get a feeling of satisfaction. Which means I love helping. Yes this CNA job is hard because you do alot of dirty work. I will be looking into it more thouroughly.
  2. Tonight I am taking care of a dementia patient of 97 years old actually sitting for him. He asked me if it was winter I just replied no its just too cold in your room. That poor man he sure is out there.
  3. They shouldn't but then again all schools are different. Our uniform was all white scrubs and shoes just a royal blue apron. But let them know your situation and see what they say hopefully they won't mind. Good luck.
  4. CONGRATS!!! I hope you have fun in REno. I haven't even started nursing school yet but i wish I could fly thru it with ease but it is hard. Kudos to all of you and those sleepless nights and just going forward.
  5. That looks like me instead of going out I sleep. But I try to get enough sleep on my days off as much as possible. I work nights and it is hard to get used to it. Alot of people drink so much coffee where I work at LOL.
  6. I started working for a hospital about a month ago in the PCU unit (progressive care unit). I must say it has been a hectic unit. I am a new CNA just got my license last year in December and I am getting experience right now. But my goal was to head for an RN and now that I am working in this setting and field, just not sure anymore. I mean working with people on a daily basis is what I love to do. But RN gets way more dirty work than a CNA does even though we do alot of dirty work don't get me wrong. It is a hard job and to my opinion under paid! I have been looking for more careers in the healthcare field because I just love to be in it somehow. What do you suggest to look at? I have been looking at Ultrasound tech and Rad Tech. Something more technical that still has to be in the health field. I just am so unsure of what I want to continue to do. I thought for sure RN was it for me no changing back. Just venting on here I dont know if any of yall have encountered the same thing.
  7. Yes well now I know that I need a little more cushion in my feet. My first night at the hospital which was Thursday I walked a lot and my feet hurt with those Skechers but hopefully I find what is best for me. Thank you for your comments.
  8. I am starting my first job as cna in a hospital and I am aware that there will be a lot of walking and standing so I purchased some "comfortable shoes". Well I think they will be they are the Skechair with memory foam they feel great on my feet right now but I hope they continue to be that way when I am on the job. Have any of yall bought them or use them? What kind of shoes do you use at work?
