  1. Relax! you'll be fine! No one ever feels 100% ready for the Nclex... get some rest tonight and eat a light breakfast tomorrow
  2. Thanks for congratulating me guys .... It's a great feeling to have this monkey off of my back
  3. Hey Su Jas, You should be good your scores are improving. I would suggest La Charity as well. Good Luck!
  4. hey Compassion, I used all of the mateial listed above. So I used Hurst, Kaplan, NCLEX 4000, La Charity and Saunders. However I do feel as if Hurst helped me the most
  5. First off, Praise The Lord! Yeah! I passed! The first time I took the nclex I went up to 234 questions before it shut off. I sat there for 4.5 hours and refused to take a break because I was worried about wasting time. I didn't prepare much and only did 2 or 3 Kaplan question trainers and maybe 300 q bank questions. I only did about 800 nclex style questions max. This second attempt I did 6 Kaplan question trainers, 90% of the q bank, la charity, saunders questions, nclex 4000, all nurses study guide, hurst review videos handouts and 6 hurst tests. All in all I did over 8,000 nclex style questions. I'm not even kidding I passed the nclex yesterday with 75 questions in 2 hours. The breakdown of my test is listed below 21 sata 2 exhibits 4 ekg's 48 multiple choice Remain calm during your test, it helped me. You passed nursing school so you're obviously got the brains. Focus on safety and not being that killer nurse! Honestly Hurst Review helped me a lot on solidifying my core content and explained it in such a way that you'll remember the info on your test. I worked 50+ Hours a week during nursing school so hurst helped me polish things up. Hurst gives great advice to relax on the nclex too. my hurst scores are listed below test 1- 86/125 test 2- 79/125 test 3- 72/125 test 4-72/125 test 5-82/125 test 6- didn't start it Kaplan is well known for their decision tree but I really never applied it while taking the exam. However, the live review was amazing! My instructor gave us tips that really kicked in during the test. I was truly blessed to have taken her class. my Kaplan scores are listed below diagnostic - 68% qt 1 - 68% Qt 2 - 61% Qt3 - 55% readiness 58% Qt 4- 65% Qt 5- 65% Qt 6 - 61% Qt 7 - didn't start it q bank completed 90% of questions with a score of 57% I'm glad it's finally over and I can't tell you the relieve I feel. Have faith, put in the study time and conquer this Nclex because you can
  6. Good luck rivsemaj109 you'll do fine... Just relax and get that RN title
  7. Congrats!
  8. Awesome thanks for not adding to my anxiety... Once again congrats on becoming an RN!
  9. Congrats I'm scheduled to take my test next week hopefully I can report back with good news
  10. As Johnson said just review the videos over and over. Till the point you can answer the worksheets on your own without the video. I like the Hurst's content review more than Kaplan. People complain about the accent on them but they're not bad and actually add life to the videos:roflmao:
  11. Thanks for the post... I'm taking my NCLEX on the 25th for the 2nd time. What were your scores on the Hurst exams?
  12. Hi Rosa, Try not to stress out. It just means you have to put in a little extra study time to go over core content. What review classes have you taken and what were the results?
  13. Congrats! Thanks for the advice! I'm working my way through the case studies of LaCharity
  14. Praying for you and wishing for the best.... You got this!
  15. Your scores look good and you've put in the studying time... Remember they're not expecting you to be a pro, they just want to make sure you're not going to be a "killer" nurse. Think safety first and don't doubt yourself. You got this!
  16. Hey guys , So i decided to push back the test to the 25th of April after getting 72/125 (58 %) on my 3rd Hurst and 80/125 (64%) on my fourth Hurst test I'm going to be starting a 4 day Kaplan live review this weekend at the Los Angeles Hilton. I know I did Kaplan before but I never did the live review and don't feel like I ever fully mastered the decision tree. After these tests I've learned that my weaknesses are now "safety and infection" and "reduction of risk potential". I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for your support
  17. Thanks Amy yeah I forgot to mention Lacharity.... I'm almost done with it, well actually I still need to do the case studies. just out of curiosity did you use hurst? And if so what were your scores?
  18. Congrats! I just started doing Hurst! I tried doing Kaplan the first time but the material was too dry. Thanks for sharing your experience!
  19. Yup I took the NCLEX back in August 2013 and didn't pass it . I got "near the passing standard" in all categories except in "health promotion and maintenance" (I was "below the passing standard") and "basic care and comfort" (I was "above the passing standard"). I really didn't study for it the first time since I went into the test all cocky . Plus i was working full time during nursing school and when I should have been studying (working 50-60 hours a week. I did some of the Kaplan Review videos, about 500 q-bank questions (percentage was in the 50's) and a few q banks (I was in the high 50's-low 60's there). I went up to 234 questions on NCLEX on my first try and unfortunately zoomed through the last few questions since I was worried about getting to work late. I made the dumbest mistake on the last question before it shut down (I immediately knew it was wrong and didn't mean to submit it lol). Anyhow that was then and now I'm prepping for my 2nd attempt at NCLEX. I'm now working at a hospital as CNA and they're waiting to pass to kick up to the next level. I'm so nervous since my exam is scheduled on April 2. I've been doing Hurst and love their content review. I've two exams and got 86/125 on the first and 79/125 on the second. Any tips guys, I'm sitting here in a library literally shaking right now. Thanks and God bless!
