  1. Milranone and B/P

Anyone else out there have problems with milranon and significant decreases in (well...down right scary decreases actually) blood pressure?
  2. Going crazy waiting for results

So, I took the Canadian equivalent of the NCLEX (CRNE), and I'm now going insane waiting for the results! I have to wait AT LEAST another 7-11 weeks for the results! I keep waking up in the middle of the night, I'm losing sleep. Everyone tells me,...

I PASSED! I PASSED! I PASSED! :roll :w00t: :roll :w00t: :roll :w00t: :biere: Giant sigh of relief!
  4. Going crazy waiting for results

It's still pencil and paper, and it now takes longer than it used to, because we have short answer. Ugh.

  7. Change with scrub design...

I always carry at least two red caps, in case I need to cap off an IV. Alcohol/chlorohexidine swabs... Mini flashlight (more like a pen light)... My little cheat sheet of patient info.... Plus what everyone else mentioned already....
  8. Change with scrub design...

    Me too!!
  9. Weird, Odd Nurses Behavior.....

That became standard post-SARS. It's pretty much in every hospital in Ontario (at least that I"ve been to). I think it's a wonderful idea too!
  10. Change with scrub design...

There's company here that has scrubs tops that have a collar..really sharp looking. Avoid a tapered leg look (I don't think it's flattering to anyone). My favourite scrubs are really quite soft, but require ironing. Teflon....for all those big G...
  11. 15 year old son with cystic acne

I don't believe so. I think it has to do with exposure in the bloodstream that makes accutane so teratogenic.
  12. 12N Sleeping During Break

I know on the floors where I've had placement, we've always had a nap at night. Nothing wrong with that at all. Note to self - never work in NC...
  13. 15 year old son with cystic acne

I have a friend that's been on accutane before. She had to use liters of moisturizers!
  14. Heeheehee...I wonder if he's going to wave his magic wand and POOF! more nurses! Or maybe nurses are the latest crop for farmers! I wonder how you can tell that nurses are 'ready to be picked'? Or when we're 'in season'? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:...
  15. The final straw...vent.

:icon_hug: :icon_hug: :icon_hug: We're all here for ya. I'm sorry you had such a rough day. Let us know how things are going.
  16. Myers-Briggs Personality Type & CRNA's

woo hoo! I'm INFP too . Although I'm half E and half I.
  17. We need a Nursing TV show

You could show an episode of the process involved in caring for a palliative patient. You could show how a student nurse in her final year advocated for her patient. The hours she spent at his bedside talking, crying and holding his hand with him a...
  18. Ok...still student...but.... .....when you look at people in public places, and estimate how many people it would take to lift them i.e. "Whoa, that person's gotta be a 6 person lift!" or "She'd be an easy transfer" I do this all the time...is th...
  19. Toughness of nursing school

Everything! No, no....just kidding :chuckle Balancing your life can be tough. Trying to meet family obligations (or even seeing your family), having a social life, balancing the sheer volume of work/clinical....add maybe a part-time job....and try...
  20. My Results!

WOO HOO! Glad things turned out for you! Fantastic! May you have a safe and good delivery, and a perfectly healthy baby!
  21. Fear Factor, Nurse Style, Five Stunts... lol

Ok, you have to run 100 meters in white scrubs. Except on either side of you there are beds side-by-side filled with demeted/dilirious patients that either have c.diff or a GI bleed, or hey even more fun, both! And they like to fling their crap at ...
  22. Fear Factor, Nurse Style, Five Stunts... lol

Remove the little electrodes for a 12-lead that have been on a 450lbs unwashed patient for an hour (and are now extra gooey and hidden under folds) with only your teeth - fastest wins! HA! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  23. *rant* "Nurse" at office answering questions.

No disagreement from me there! She took very good care of my precious kitties! Had she identified herself as a veterinary nurse, I wouldn't have been ticked! She just needed to qualify the noun 'nurse'!
  24. *rant* "Nurse" at office answering questions.

Ack! I had a similar experience at the VET's office. My cats had gone to have major dental work in Toronto, and the vet tech brought them back. I wasn't sure when they were going to be back, so I called the office, and the vet tech that was bringi...
  25. Volunteer Nurses Needed for Hurricane Emergency!

That's a fantastic idea! Is there some way of organizing this?
