  1. I am wondering if anyone can help me I am going for a job interview in a couple of weeks and have to give a 5 minute presentation on the role of an E grade. I was an E grade until 5 months ago until I decided to down grade to gain more experience I know what my role is as an e grade but am having difficulty putting into words what I mean and am also looking for different ideas on how to approach the subject. Any ideas, comments etc are all gratefully appreciated. Thanks Jen:lol2:
  2. Hiya Linda, I found myself thinking along the same lines as you about 6 months ago and took the plunge and went to a high care unit which was opening. Like you I worked in rehab for 5 years and was an Egrade and after giving myself time to settle in I have now decided its not for me, I feel I just don't get it as the unit is more like high dependency and I feel very stressed and out of my depth constantly, whereas I knew my job inside out within the rehab unit. Is there not any chance of getting promotion in your current post? I know what you are saying about gaining more experience but think long and hard because sometimes its not it is cracked up to be
  3. Thats great Tina, how long is that you have had to wait? Jen
  4. I am in the same situation you are in at the moment. I recently applied for a job within a high care unit, got it and now don't know whether to take it. I have worked in the same area for 7 years (semi acute rehab which has turned more geriatric care), and feel I am not working to my full potential. By taking this job I will have to drop a grade and increase my hours to make up the pay I will be losing by dropping down a grade. But I feel it is my chance to get out of looking at the same faces day in day out and to use my brain and skills. I have a 3 year old and the guilt I am feeling because I am thinking about increasing my hours is tremendous but then I think a happy mum is a better mum but I still feel really bad for leaving her that extra day with the childminder. But I do think these things happen for a reason and you should do what you feel is right for you. Hope you come to a decision as everybody keeps telling me only you can make it. Jen
  5. If you don't mind me asking what agency are you with?
  6. Has anybody out there had any dealings with nurses4america I have a telep hone interview with them shortly but the guy who I spoke to in the UK didn't seem to understand what I was talking about when talking about my nursing transcript and hours etc. Any feedback would be gratefully received. Thanks Jen
  7. Hi Flick, it was me who sent you that message, my school of nursing has just sent for the third time my transcript of nursing and from going onto this website I have found out it could be the type of training I did ie 18 months common foundation programme then 18 months specialising in adult and that I could have hours to make up both practical and theoretical in the subjects I lack hours in. So now I am waiting for the CGFNS to get back to me and was wondering what training you did do you have a degree or diploma? The degree probably counts for more. It really cracks me up as America is crying out for nurses and here we are can't even get a credentials evaluation. Hopefuly something will work out. Let me know what think Jen
  8. Hi I think I am in the same boat as yourelf I applied independently in oct2004 and am now on my third attempt at sending my nursing transcript hopefully .this time it will be filled in correctly. When did you do your training was it b4 or after p2000 this seems to be my hold up
